What are the chances they will just let u off with a warning and not make u go to court? Or do u think most of the time they will make you?

Cops cannot give you a criminal record... just arrest you for breaking the law and the record, if there is one to be, will be from the court when the judge passes the punishment.

Yes, my friend was charged for 2 roaches. For me, I've been caught with marijuana or pariphenelia more than 15 times and only been charged once.
For a first offense they usually give you some kind of citizens probation. which is basically a program including community service, n/a meetings, and citizen parole. If you don't get into anymore trouble and complete the program, it will be taken off your record. In my experience, I'd rather be charged. Its merely a slap on the wrist and more than likely will not come back to haunt you.
Whoever saids its a felony is an idiot. Whoever said it is a federal offense should never open their mouth again.

I SO experience your soreness. back in the 1970's I went with the sheriff's branch in my city simply by fact they did no longer polygraph applicants. The police branch did, or perhaps the son of an FBI guy became grew to become down simply by fact he "tried pot" some cases jointly as in college. So - no longer surely everyone polygraphs to this present day. in case you will stumble on a postion with a regulation enforcement group that doesn't, and build a competent rep, you may probable flow to a various group laterwithout a polygraph. additionally, there are amny CRJ jobs outdoors of highway cop which will possibly no longer require polygraph. carry out a little homework in this section. Ask around. TSA workers are not required to polygraph (to the better of my expertise) and neither do penitentiary guards, and a few federal jobs. There is often many LE communities that may not push aside you over some bouts of faculty experimentation - even in spite of the undeniable fact that i might never admit to attempting Coke or E. in basic terms forget approximately approximately that. You smoked pot some cases in basic terms. good luck. i like to confirm 'actual human beings' as police officers. they are the terrific police officers simply by fact they 'get it'. i became for very just about 10 yrs.

Is this Yahoo Answers or Yahoo Idiots?
Pot isn't likely to kill you. If you are smoking some garbage you bought from the guy on the corner, then yes it is certainly much worse for you then good cannabis (kind bud). If you heat it up in some oil or butter and use it in your cooking for consumption, you virtually eliminate any risk to your life. This is not to say it won't kill brain cells - of course it does. However there is approximately 90% of our brain that i not in use not to mention the fact that the environment most of us live in is much more harmful anyway.
Sleep on an innerspring mattress? Well those contain harmful insecticides. If your mattress is from 2005 or after, the amount of poison increases tenfold. Use saran wrap in the microwave? Those toxins are seeping into your food the moment the saran wrap heats up. Do you have cars where you live? Do you use a cell phone? (I am not saying cell phones cause brain cancer as that is debatable. There is however NO debate that cells give off harmful EMI).
Those who said you would find yourself with a crimnal record in Canada for ANY amount are outright wrong as it has been decriminalized for possession under X amount as another user stated.
On the issue of medical use, those who blindly state that it's "wrong" or that people should be throw in jail for it ... One day you or a loved one will be in terrible pain, perhaps due to cancer or some other terrible disease or condition. I hope hope for your sake that we have made some headway in legalizing at least medical use of marijuana as no person shoudl have to suffer when there are remedies available to them.
I am not saying pot use is for everyone but it's not hurting anyone either unless you consider that drug wars are being fought BECAUSE it's illegal. I don't want the school bus driver high while he/she is at work but I don't want him/her durnk either. The laws should be similar for marijuana use as they are for alcohol. This taboo treatment of marijuana is senseless and is only 1 more thing for the government to make money on.

If you had weed in the United States, and you got caught and convicted, you would so have a criminal record. In the US, possession of weed is a federal (FBI/ATF) offense

Duh yes it is illegal to posess weed it is against the law hence a criminal record they dont just give you a fine and say see you later you have to go to court. And if you are cought with what they consider to be a large amount you may find yourself up on trafficing charges and depending on the cop 4g's may not be enough for trafficing but will be enough for posession with intent to sell.

depends on where you live! If you live in AL hell yes!
Someone who is very close to me was charged with Possession of a Marijuanna for sitting on three seeds in SOMEONE ELSES CAR!!!! I swear!
he ended up getting the charged dropped down to public intoxication (which he wasn't even stoned, or had the first drop of alcohol)
They sentence him to complete a 6 MONTH outpatient Drug treatment program where he was tested weekly and had to pay for his own test!
Talk about a crock of bullsh*t! And that was with an attorney he paid. he wasnt charged of a felony tho...but anyone doing a background check would see has been charged with public intoxication and completed drug treatment

I think you already know the answer to this question. Marijuana is against the law and believe me when you are looking for a job, you don't want to have a criminal record. A criminal record is something you can't ever escape.
