I have a license to purchase a had gun and have others. I didn't register this collectors item because I meant to keep it. I am soon to leave the country and wish to sell it because I can't take any firearms inti that country. What procedure should I follow?

the police? According to the news this morning, there is such a proposal being brought before the government. I read that suicide among soldiers is at an all-time high. This tells me that there is mental instability in some members of the military which could make them dangerous to civilians. Given that soldiers are NOT police officers and could commit crimes just like any other citizen, should they be given that much power? It seems that if crimes against a military person can be considered the same as a crime against the police, we are now proposing a police state and giving more power to the military who could actually begin to "quarter themselves in our homes". What recourse would citizens have against military personnel who are lawbreakers? How soon before Blackwater would beconsidered members of the military?

I have a friend who is a police officer and he works ALL THE TIME. I mean he works on his days off he gets like 4 hours of sleep I swear. He does it to get extra cash but it can not be healthy. Tuesday night he worked from 3pm to 3am and he had to get up early to be at work by 6:30. I have told him he should stop working so much but he doesn't listen. Does anyother officer do this?

I took my car to have new tires put on and my oil changed last Sunday (Oct. 21) (which by the way happened to be my birthday too) to Wal-Mart (my first mistake) and now my camera has come up missing from my car. I know I had it the day before. I can't believe I left it in my car, it was a pretty stupid thing to do, but is there anything I can do? Am I allowed to view the video tapes from that day, would getting a lawyer do any good or am I outta luck.
Thanks, this has really upset me

they have done so, and it upsets my youngest daughter the most. She is 4 and developmentally delayed and knows ppl who aren't her teachers, or ppl she does not see every day, as bad ppl. She does not like strangers, at all. So when a social worker visits my kids at school, asks her questions, she is visibly upset when she gets home from school. When we have asked them not to see her at school, they look at me and ask if we have anything to hide. i tell them no, but they insist on seeing her anyway, insisting we are hiding something by asking them not to see her at school. We aren't being investigated, but are being evaluated, same to me, i say. My oldest daughter answers their questions, but she is vague about things if she feels it is not their business. Can they just go into a school and visit kids without the parent's permission, and mentally upset them? Isn't that mental abuse? And who do THEY have to answer to when they screw up?

I had an interesting conversation with a buddy of mine who is visiting from SC. Before he left, he was ticketed for DUI. Not that this makes a difference, but he had a clean record and has never been ticketed with DUI. He says he blew right at .08 (not sure if calibration issues would have come into play here) on the test. Anyways, he never went for his court date on Sept. 19, 2007 and he is sure that his license is suspended and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The other night he was driving home late (not drunk he works a late shift at a job) and was pulled over by NYS troopers. They did a Field Sobriety Test on him and let him go. What he is wondering and frankly so am I, is how he was let go? Wouldn't the officers be compelled to run a check, especially on somebody pulled over on suspicion of DUI? Is there any odd way he could have slipped through the system in SC? Also, he was hired at a job that does background checks and nothing came up there either.

The officers were cleared of any wrongdoing, along with finding that meyer possibly intended to spark the confrontation.
"According to the report, during a Sept. 11 Gators for Rudy [Giuliani] rally, Meyer got into an argument with another student and told a friend that ``if he liked what he had seen that he should go to the Kerry speech and he would really see a show.''"

I agree with the findings.

and make up lies in an attempt to get the officer fired to get out of a ticket they earned?
I understand the right to argue an officers opnion of a complete stop as opposed to roling through a stop sign. The legal system has an avenue set up just for this. If you do not like the officers opnion you take him to traffic court. But to go beyond this and make out sworn statements and lies in an attempt to have the officer fired is beyond me.
I know there are people who refuse to take responsibility for their actions and find ways to blame others for their actions, but there needs to be a limit somewhere. If you don't want to take the responsibilty for your actions and want to blame others that's fine. But to get out of a $150.00 ticket by trying to ruin the officers reputation and job is silly.
The officer relies on his income the same as everyone else. He has bills to pay and mouths to feed as well.
Why do people try this approach to handeling a situation.
