we were hit by a someone and they tried to run. We chased them and the police were called and made a report collecting both parties information. The insurence info that the other party provided does not exsist! So we can't collect it through insurence. I tried to call her but she keep avoiding me. Now we are taking her to small claims court! we have pictues, witness statements. But what happens if she does not show up? What other actions can we take legally? How will the police contact her to make sure she shows up in court?? Any other advice???? Thank you. We are college students and really dont have any money for lawyers!

A close family member of mine has been receiving death threats by telephone for the past 3 days. The first night he called 13 times in 45 minutes and informed her that someone had paid him $5000 to kill her. She called the police. While they were there he didn't call...as soon as he left he started the calls again. The police told her that they could not trace it b/c he was blocking the number. Now it's 2 days later and the calls are relentless. It seems that her house is being watched due to the way the calls are coming. This afternoon someone was beating on her door and she was too scared to go to it. When she called they told her they would add it to the report. They sent her to sign a release for the # to be traced, but when she got there they told her that they couldn't because a crime hadn't been committed. I cannot believe this!!! Does she have to die before they will do something? Who knows what's gonna happen next,he's already gotten brave enought to come to the door

I've been playing this game online for about 4 years, and one of its players sent another player a death threat via MSN messenger, but got banned inside the game for it and the reason being that if the game developer failed to take action against the accused player and the other player took it to the law officials, that he could get in trouble as well. Is that true. Would the game itself be responsible if it didn't happen within the game?

cops are such pigs... they are giving away tickets here and there because they need to give certain amount of ticket each months to "move up the ladder". They tell us to obey the laws when they do not. they have special "pass" where they can get out of situations, such as speeding, wreckless driving, etc. I guess not all cops are pigs but 99.9% are.

one recent incident, cop stopped me because I had a "black car". cop thought that I was dealing drugs because I went round the block several times, but i was lost. cops made me get out of vehicle, arrested me for no reason, pushed me into his car, and 2 K9's entered my car, wrecked it, chewed my belt and sh*t inside my car. After finding no drugs, cops didnt even apologize; didnt even clean up the sh*t; i demanded apology and they told me to "go home." so I was mad, I grabbed the sh*t and threw it on the cop's car, and they arrested me. When court day came, cop didnt even show up, and i was released. now I am suing the city and nypd!!!

I have a good life, not many regrets. The one career I wish I'd pursued would have been either forensic science or criminal psychology. I know I don't have what it takes to be a police officer or detective. My question is: How has your career affected your life? Your relationships? The way you view society as a whole? How do you deal with the things you've seen? I realize that the most jaded ( for lack of a better word at the moment) may not feel compelled to answer my question, but it is you I'd most like to respond.
I have a profound respect for what you do, I'm simply curious about how pursuing the above stated would have changed me as a person. Thank you in advance... and thank you for doing what you do!!!

Why are most of these people considered felons? Why are they not allowed to live 500-2500 ft from schools/daycare centers/recreational centers/libraries? Why are all of these people losing their constitutional rights? Why are they on the sex offender registry for 10 years or life, depending on the state? How are children being protected by the registry if these people are on it? Do you know what I have been attempting to do with my questions?
