Patient doctor confidentiality prohibits your therapist from divulging previous acts. However, they are obligated to report if they believe a client is planning to commit a crime.

Ask your new therapist to explain the ethics of when they are allowed to breach confidentiality.

You don't need to tell them why - they probably explained it at the beginning and they won't mind keeping you up to date.

Depending on the reasons you are there, it may be therapeutic and not reportable for you to share that info.

If they find you a credible threat though, they are duty bound to report it. That doesn't mean they will stop treating you, only that they must report it.

If you threaten to harm yourself or others, the therapist has a duty to report it. They can arrest your *** for that.
