I went to the open house at my local fire station and it seems like this is probably the perfect job for me. I couldnt figure out anything about the job that I wouldnt like.

besides maybe having to go out on a call at 3 or 4 am or something like that.

My brother has been on a fire line since Sunday morning. His wife had to evacuate and he does not know if his own home still exists.

It's not your average job, you must keep yourself in good physical condition. Then there's training, learning about different kinds of fires (chemicals etc) and how to deal with them.

And of course working long hours putting out fires at times and getting hurt on the job.

Not a firefighter, but I've have to assume that DYING is at the top of list of things they wouldn't like in their job.

Fire and the long period between wondering & keeping busy.
Then there are disaster's like California.
(not one but knew a few) They also are now first responder's to traffic accidents, none too pretty and frustrating why???
