I am in possession of this dated weapon in mint cond 1944. I have had it for years. The guy that sold it to me is long dead.

I have a license to purchase a had gun and have others. I didn't register this collectors item because I meant to keep it. I am soon to leave the country and wish to sell it because I can't take any firearms inti that country. What procedure should I follow?

Sorry for misconception It is marked as P-38 as is the holster , I called it a luger because of it's appearance. I received this weapon in the 1960's. All original markings on weapon and holster. It is brown instead of blue

You need nothing to sell a used gun just sell it. Used gun dealers have to have a go ahead from the state and feds they are selling it in.. But as a private party you are required to do nothing. The authortties will tell you different but nope just sell it and keep a record of the guy you sold it to for your own personal files

Not sure, but I think it should be on your firearms certificate before you can sell it...doesn't it? So not sure...just lie and say to the Police that you just found it in your Dads stuff in the loft of something and get it put on your certificate.....But I am no expert.

SOUNDS LIKE A FAKE. AS STATED 1942 THEY QUIT MAKING THE LUGERS AS YOU KNEW THEM WWII.

COUNTERFEIT PIECES AND REPLICAS MADE AND SOLD AS ORIGINALS AND CAN FOOL THE EXPERTS.
REAL LUGER WORTH $5,000 OR MORE.

take it to a gun dealer, they can give you a value based on the condition which cannot be assessed over the net.
