It has been my experience that most law enforcement officers will not openly discuss the necessary use of their weapon, on duty or off, plain clothed or uniformed (other than the practice range). Without offering details, my answer to your question is yes.

Concealed weapons do have their uses. I suggest you think about where you carry and if you have a reasonable reason for concern. I run into people on traffic stops. They will assert they are armed and are carrying. Guess what my response? I pull my weapon and his life is definitely at a degree of risk. I would do the same with someone stating they were a police officer. They are a potential threat until verified. And even a police officer can go off as was the case of the one recently in Wisconcin that killed the 6 kids having a pizza party. My suggestion is that you do not carry concealed anywhere inappropriate to openly carry. You'll be a lot safer. Some of the concealed permit holders I have encountered are paranoid and have had three who used their weapons in road rage incidents, as the aggressor. One resulted in a man being persued and shot. He is now serving 8 years. The other two convicted of felony assault with firearms. So they can no longer buy or possess any firearm. I am far less concerned with openly carried firearmms.

When I was concealed?
You mean when carrying concealed? No, but there are other things to do besides draw your weapon.
