Does anybody out there know if you can become a police officer for nypd if you still get a check from the va? is there anybody out there that is a nypd cop or a police officer anywhere in new york that gets a va check? if they do a backround check will they find out that we do get a check or is that something that we have to tell them about?thanks for all your help,ryan

the thing i am worried about is the fact that somebody told me i cant get my va check and get a check from nypd at the same time, is there any truth to that?

like a retirement check????????? Are you considered fully disabled? If its just your retirement check.... i don't see why not. I am confused... you need more details... there are different reasons for VA checks.

Y ou Can Be A NYC Cop, But Be Advised Whatever Youve Ever Done In The Past Good Or Bad Is Gonna Surface. If You Get A VA Check And Are Capable Mentally And Physically Of Doing The Job Youll Get It. Be Honest. Good Luck To Ya.

I don't work for NYPD. But they can't discriminate based on a medical condition as long as it doesn't interfere with you doing your job. I receive a VA check and have a disability rating, but was still hired as an officer.

VA CHECK FOR DISABILITIES.
WOUNDED VET--GET PREFERENCE ON TESTS OF 5% FOR VET, 10% WOUNDED.
DEPENDS ON DISABILITY.
ALSO CHECK WITH VA. SOME FRIENDS HAD TO FORFIET ALL OR A PORTION OF CHECK IF THEY WERE GOING TO WORK??

If you have some type of disability you can be disqualified. You need to be honest because if they find out you get dismissed anyways
