Well considering that you can pass HIV and Hep C and an assortment of other things by spitting in someones face, yes you can.
Personally I would rather be punched in the face then spit. And if you choose to do it, I really hope that your health insurance is paid up. Because unfortunatley a lot of districts don't prosecute for it and some cops well then tend to dish out their own brand of punishment.
Simple to say, not a good idea to do that.

Yes, you can be charged with assault, aggravated assault of a police officer, and possibly attempted murder if you have a communicable disease (like AIDS). The court can and just might require you to be tested for AIDS--- AT YOUR EXPENSE and the results reported to the court and to the officer. Spitting at someone is a coward's insult, and at 6'3" and 135lbs., I can see that was the best you could offer. Consider yourself extremely lucky if you still have any teeth to spit through. The courts have been very harsh with penalties for this offense.......... be prepared to be found guilty, pay a hefty fine, spend a few days in county jail, and be on the receiving end of a good @ss-chewing from the judge.

You would be charged with aggravated assault in Scotland as you had used your body fluid's as a weapon..
If you are dumb enough to spit at a cop, you deseve what you will get!!

Yes.
You should be charged if you were to spit in any persons face. I cannot believe you do not know that. It is a very low class thing to do and you must also know that.

If you spit in any ones face - regardless if they are a cop or not you can be charged with assault.
Why do you think the law would allow you to do that to anyone - especially a cop? Are you just that young or that stupid?

Most definitely you could and would be charged. That's after you get out of the hospital oh mighty brave one. In case you missed it, that's a bit of sarcasm there. I don't know you, but I know your kind. You are very brave when you are anonymous on the Internet or in front of your friends, but would turn into a frightened little bunny rabbit if anyone even looked at you sideways. Stop trying to make yourself feel brave, although if false bravado actually makes you feel brave, I feel very sorry for you.

I love it when people bad mouth my brothers and sisters on here.....I tell you whats funny...whenever I deal with people on the street it becomes a completly different story...its "yes sir, no sir, thank you sir" I ALWAYS treat people with respect because thats just the right thing to do.....but I actually had a 35 year old guy spit on me once when serving an arrest warrant.....Its funny, because he starting crying and yelling for "Mommy"(I swear on the bible) after I was done with him.....so in the end what did he get? Slapped with a 2nd degree felony, a fractured wrist(from fighting with me while in a wrist lock) and abrasions on his face (from eating the pavement) anyone else wanna try to get smart? Just remember, we're here to help you...and we're on your side...but don't try to hurt us, because its all too easy for us to make your day a bad one...........

Yes, definitely. It's called aggravated assault. A felony. Judges have a nice way with dealing with attitudes like that. There are some LEO's that would take the long way back to the station if you did that to them. Don't even think about it.

Thats sick. I am not exactly a cop lover no more, but I am a people person. And most cops I have seen are descent folks, just they my have or be a part of a troubled department.
