This is actually really embarrassing but I suffer from Paruresis (“Shy Bladder Syndrome”) and soon I will be court ordered to serve time in jail.

I’m freaking out because what if I get stuck with a Cellmate? I will end up with a bladder infection or something serious because of my condition – I WONT be able to go!!

If I tell them on the form or whatever that I suffer from this do I have any rights, or will they just laugh at me and say “yeah right”? I’m praying I get my own cell. I just wanted to know how my condition stands when it requires special treatment in my type of scenario (the law). What are my options?

Serious answers only please!!

The offender was a Marine and 19 years of age at the time of the offense. The offense was capital murder, committed in Mississippi, and the sentence is life. I think with parole. The offender has already done about 6 years. But regardless of details, what's the shortest sentence you've ever heard of a capital offender carry out when the sentence is life?

It seems like there are a number of people on Y!A that "call foul" and say many of the things police do is entrapment.

So what is your definition of entrapment? Did you get your knowledge of entrapment from someone that doesn’t know what it is, or did you bother to look it up for yourself to truly understand it?

I’m curious. BTW, this is a U.S. based question.

To make story short… we encountered a truck flashing people to get people to get out of his way. We encountered him and he flashed us then flicked on and off a red light. We moved over and flashed him once. He then begin to slam on his breaks and then stopped in the fast lane so that he had to be behind us. (we thought he was going to kill us or ram his truck into us). I called 911 and they told me to keep driving and if he follows you CHP will be there. He got off the exit and a cop car was waiting. So we pulled over. My boyfriend rolled down the window to talk to the police man, and the guy from the truck came to my bf and grabbed his head and slammed it into the steering wheel, cussing and telling me to get off the phone. We then knew he was a Homicide Detective. The Police man denies ever seeing anything, and the Homicide guy took off in the truck. We were cited with a ticked for going over 100 (which we wernt) from the police man, he never witnessed anything. We're now at blame.

Ok so my dad was driving and had me on blue tooth cause i was asking him when he could pick me up form the party i was at. He had a hard day yesterday and someone cut him off and while they were doing so they flipped him off. So he sped up and cut them off. Then they cut him off again so he sped up a lil more and was a lil too close. And a cop pulled him over. I am still on blue tooth cause my dad never shut me off, and this cop was a real as*hole. He is like I'm gonna write you 10 tickets. I'm going to make it equal 12 points so you automatically get your lisence taken away and I am going to testify at court to make sure your license is atleast suspended. My dad goes, thats a lot, could you give me a break? And the cop goes I AM GIVING YOU A BREAK!! I AM NOT TAKING YOU TO JAIL FOR RECKLESS DRIVING!! By this time i am screaming bloody murder at the cop the most hateful words i could think of, but they couldnt hear me (thank god)...hang on there is more...

I'm currently living in NY but plan to move to florida next summer. When I move I need to start my career in law enforcment down there immediatly. The ideal place for me to work would be Naples but anything close by would work also. My question is; is their anything I can do while I'm up here that would make the process go faster when I move. Any kind of tests or paper work I can fill out? Any current or retired officers that would like to chat please feel free to e-mail me, the more information the better. Thanks!

My wife and I are both elderly and frail UK citizens.

We can't keep guns, and would be no match for any young thug who broke in or threatened to kill, maim, or harm us

The Government is not interested in us, and the Police would arrest and prosecute us. -not the intruders if we used "Unreasonable Force" (as if we could!)

Has anyone any brilliant, practical ideas on what we could employ that would be "REASONABLE FORCE" please?

We lock and bolt all doors and windows, and have a burglar alarm with Panic button, already, - but I am looking for something more 'aggressively defensive' -if you know what I'm trying to say. - Something a jury would have no hesitation in deciding "He was defending himself ! NOT GUILTY!"

Blanket surveillance like CCTV systems, facial recognition software, telecommunication and vehicle tracking, the DNA database etc. etc. does nothing to stop criminals, terrorists, or 'social problems' and it doesn't make anybody feel any safer.

If it doens't solve any of the problems it was brought in for, what exactly is it there for?

A neighbor of mine continuously allows his dog to poop in front of my condo (without picking it up). My condo is up for sale, and I constantly have to stay on top of this. About 30 days ago, I actually witnessed him not picking up so I approached him (face to face). He went ballistic and had the audacity to say that I was mistaken (even with dog poop evident on the ground). I told him I had pictures of him so this outraged him. We had a verbal exchange, but this is where it ended. He proceeded to call the police, and he claimed I hit him. I have a witness (thank God) to say this did not happen, but he is cliaming thta "She" is being wreckless and lying. Anyway, the cops dropped it b/c it's stupid, but he has taken it a step farther by taking it to the magistrate court of my county for a warrant for my arrest. The hearing is Fri 11/16. I am confident in my story, but I am 4 months pregnant and stressed out & high risk. The man is not telling the truth; do I have any recourse?

my friend has three daughters, twins fourteen and one is six. the twins just came forward with allegations of sexual abuse against her now former boyfriend. when he tried to return to their home recently i responded and threw him off the property. the six year old now is is aggressive toward me for being "mean" to her "daddy". when i talked to her about it she told me that she was aware of what happened to her sisters(quite explicit) but didn't care because she loves him. she went on to tell me that even if he had done it to her she would still want him to be her daddy and that she was mad at her sisters also. she still comes to me for comfort but then turns sometimes and attacks me physically. what is going on?!? was she abused also? what do we do? cps is already involved of course, but the d.a. is taking their time and the guy is still hovering around free to continue his manipulation over this family. in the meantime we are trying to start the healing but the system is letting us dwn

Is there any group or organization where a civilian or volunteer can help serve out the law? Per say you see kids robbing something, and by the time police showed up they would be long gone, and you are right there to do it. Is there any civilian sheriff program or something similar along those lines that you can take and get some certification to do so, when law isn't around? I'm not speaking of a vigilante, but having some certification to apprehend people of this nature and to call the police when you have them detained, and it being legal? And not even a job, but as a volunteer not wanting any funds.

I was drivign at 3am at night across a long desloate road and there is this town called taft in California, and i was driving up to the stop sign and stop about a car lengh behind the stop sign because there is a gas station on the corner i was debating weither to go get food or not, i sat for about 20 seconds and then deciced to not get anything and continued on my way, a cop pulled me over imeduatly and said i ran the stop sign and didnt listen to me that i stoped behind the line a little bit to see if the gas station was open. so tomarrow i have to go to court and plede guilty not guilty and the judge will give me a deal like half the price of the ticket if i plede guilty, but i didnt do it and if i choose to fight it i wont get the deal but i get a chance to prove i didnt do it, but in the end it will be my word vs. the cops...where is the justice in that? what should i do. i cant afford the ticket and i didnt do anything wrong. please give some advice.

I'm wondering, if you knew someone was guilty of something and they got away with it... would you get them in trouble for something else that they didn't do? So they get the punishment they should have gotten before anyway, only for something different?

my daugher had just returned home from a day at the mall with her friend; she had a bag full of clothes, when i had only given her $20. she said there was a lot of sales that day, i asked her to show me what she got. she had at least 16 articles of clothing so i asked to see the receipt. she said she had not asked for one, and when i looked more closely at the clothes i noticed there was big holes where the plastic anti-theft buttons used to be. there was also a pair of scissors in her purse. i want to call the police so they can talk to her, but i dont want them to alert the clothing store so they can press charges or send her to a correctional facility or make her have a criminal record. she's only 15, but i dont want this to continue. i also want her to go to the clothing stores personally & admit what she did but again, i dont want them to press charges, etc. i dont mind giving the clothes back and paying for it, i just dont want her future affected by 1 mistake. what should i do?
