Thames valley Police are one of the larger UK forces, therefore I imagine that they will have one of the larger firearms departments. They will have in excess of 100 firearms officers who will provide cover on the ARV's (Armed Response Vehicles) for spontaneous incidents and have sufficient capability to carry out pre-planned firearms operations.

We dont have a firearms unit as per say like so19 for the met etc.

We just have trained firearms officers.

All British forces have an ARU. I believe these specially trained personel are often drawn from other units and jobs

We have 8 units of firearms officers and it is split up into 8 officers per Unit. A anti terror unit. 2 officers who are trained in using all firearms this includes MP4s Snipers and all other issued guns and are usually called out to protect the queen
