The case depends upon the stringent adherence to rules. It could only take months but can take years if the parties wanted to delay the proceedings.

How long? Weeks to never, depending on their political and economic ties to the various government agencies and individuals.

In todays pervious legal system, money talks a lot, and the major kingpins almost never are caught, and if caught, almost always got off with either good lawyers, pressure on courts, or most generally, both.

And as the politicians continue to "load" the courts with judges who are more interested in making new laws from old than in impartial enforcement of existing laws, we will see more and more criminals of all sorts getting off scott-free.

My guess is that by now commercial espionage is so common most will get off and even if caught never be convicted; too many smaller fry without the expensive lawyers to try and slap the hands of.

My guess is 90 days may be about right if you espionage the dimensions of a standard 1" widget bolt, and never if you steal all the details of a device to detonate "peaceful" nuclear plants and give them to a terrorist group hell-bent on destroying the United States. In-between severity fits in-between the above limits.

I expect money and political connections will continue to talk loudly, and so will the activist groups who oppose secrecy, especially if it helps our enemies, or is going to embarrass politicians whom they oppose.

About a yr ago some employees of Coca-Cola contacted some employees of Pepsi about Coke's "secret recipe" and would they be interested in "obtaining / buying the secret formula", so to speak.Pepsi's Top Brass immediately called Coca-Cola's Top Brass about the situation at hand, along with the FBI. Well with all the "Have your people contact my people" for the mtg. and exchange of a chemistry lesson in exchange for a job and a "suitcase full of Bonus sign on incentives" . After the first initial contact by C-C emp. all conversations and mtgs were both taped and recorded. So , I think by the end of the month after defence lawyers were shown the 'evidence' all pleaded 'GUILTY" to commercial espionage.
