Assuming you live in a normal neighborhood, you may request extra patrols anytime you wish. Generally, you will be asked a reason. Simply state you will be away for the week if that is the case, and don't be afraid to call in suspicious people. Get together with your neighbors and start looking after one another. Start a Neighborhood Watch program. They really work!

Police generally are never afraid to patrol anywhere. You can not do this job in fear as you will ultimately get hurt. If you work in fear all the time then it is time to find another job for sure!
What you are probably observing is that police are probably tied up on other calls in your community as it sounds like an inner city situation. Officers generally go call to call in those areas dealing with outrageously high crime rates, drugs, shootings, violence, alcohol and just about everything you can imagine. This takes away from valuable patrol time. As far as medical cars being around a lot that is due to probably so many medical issues, violence, stabbings, shootings that take place requiring them to respond.
I would be ashamed to live or be part of any community like that and would do my best to set an example, help others and improve the neighborhood. Yes I am dreaming...but it can happen!!

Why do your "families" produce so many gang members toting pistols and knives would be a better question. If the police are afraid to enter a city then there are some serious problems. They know their car could be jumped or if they try to make an arrest they get ambushed by a bunch of thugs. If they are going to patrol your streets they would need large numbers, which defeats the purpose, and wouldn't work due to funding.

I purely study that the city of Sterling Heights, MI ranked some thing like #5 in the applicable maximum secure cities in united statesa., in accordance to crime information. i became into there some years in the past, and that i gotta say, you rather see the law enforcement officers. curiously it is not a undesirable component, because of fact aspects values are severe and persons are paying to circulate into the city. In aspects the place you do not see uniformed law enforcement officers plenty, that's greater probable that the mayor or city council has desperate, of their endless 'know-how' that the law enforcement officers should not be there.

Police are called for one reason, EMTs are called for another. They are both trained for different scenarios. If your neighborhood is too dangerous for police patrols I would suggest a change of address.

James, the MIB realized you were on to their black choppers and have switched to using ambulances or "medical cars" to spy on you.
You should turn around three times and sprint in an unknown to anybody (including you) direction when ever you see one!

another question you could ask is why our hero's refused to give aid to a truck driver in watt's while he was being pulled from his truck and beaten, when over 100 cops and firemen were within 100 feet of him, and when the victim took them to court the judge ruled the police are not required to protect you,," am I crazy ? I thought that was the reason we paid them such a high salary, and all of the fringe benefits they get, I some how think we are getting cheated, civilians rescued the man, most cops are very scared of their own shadow , and are no ones friend except their own,
