If the cardiac problem occured immediately after the accident, it's very possible the charges will be placed against her, even though it didn't occur right away. Since the other party died three days later, I'm sure someone is going to try to link the circumstances together. Tell your friend to get an attorney, and be ready for a lot of court. Just remember, she has to be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. It was an unfortunate circumstance.

It's possible if the doctors can tie it all together in some way. Might depend on whether he had had prior heart attacks but even then, they can say the stress of the accident caused him to have the heart attack which killed him. If his family has a good lawyer..............

No! Even if the death was caused by the accident she can only be cited for following too closely. Unless of course she was intoxicated, driving recklessly, or otherwise somehow unfit to drive. People get rear ended all the time and accidents happen. That is why they are called accidents

doubtful
the DA would have to try to prove that the heart attack was a direct result of the accident. While some Coroners have written unbelievable stuff on death reports, I think that's just too far out.
less worry there ... and pay attention to the road ahead ... mirrors are what we use to see the traffic behind us and in the next lane.

on your person words "he in no way deliberate for the twist of destiny". that's the definition of manslaughter. Doing some thing which by danger reasons the death of somebody. If it became deliberate it may be homicide. frequently you're able to be doing some thing incorrect to be charged with manslaughter, eating, rushing, utilising recklessly, or some thing stupid that a particularly prudent person does not do. curiously the police think of your buddy became doing some thing incorrect and that's criminal for them to arrest him.

Doubtful. The guy probably had big health problems prior to the accident.

If it directly relates to the accident, then yes. However, given the scenario you gave, it is highly unlikely.
Was your friend a contributing factor? Maybe, but how can people prove it? Therefore, the crime of vehiclular homicide won't stand.
