This is the thing, I was driving my Geo (small car) and then I turned in a one way street, and I saw a police car with the lights on about 3 blocks away from where I was, I really couldnt notice if it was coming towards me or just stopped there until it came closer (around 1 1/2 blocks) then I started looking for a place to park but there were cars parked in the street so I couldnt get in any spot, so the police car came to me, I was really close to an alley and I thought of getting in there, but the police wouldnt wait and forced me to go against the parked cars, thank God my car is really small and I dont have the passenger's mirror or I know I would have hit one or more of those cars and then he still yells at me MOVE!! so I mean, he is in a wrong way in a really small street, (like only 2.5 cars size) and theres no space, yes he has the lights on and I know Im suppose to get out of their way, my mom was at me cuz I got mad at the police, so who is wrong here? I really want to know

Im not saying this because I worry about my car, is crap anyways, and I couldnt tell that it was moving because it was going really slow, I really dont think he was going to an emergency, just wanted to show up, and like I said, I tried to stop and parked but there was just not space for me

He was on his way to an emergency, and you got flustered. For all you know someone's life could have been in the balance while you figured out what to do with your car.
If you can't tell from 3 blocks away if a vehicle is coming towards you, it might be time for an eye exam.

The situation is probably more complicated, but you need to talk to a higher up in the department and|or in the city. You may have the right to damages. The copy was clearly not in pursuit since you encountered no other car. Since there was no place to pull off, your choice was to get as close to the cars as possible and stop. Then if he hits you ....
I normally put on the turn signal to indicate I have seen the vehicle and what I am trying to do, usually so the fire truck or cop will know I am blocked and use the left turn lane or cross the median if available.

Well I personally feel for ya. Yes you should at all costs get out of the way ASAP but I have seen many times where cops, EMTs, etc. are blaring their sirens & flashing lights like crazy crossing busy intersections, going down narrow streets etc. and usually they will pause at least for a second or two to allow a motorist out of the way. It's like today I was walking out of Walgreens right next to a BUSY intersection (2 highways meet) A trucker was making a left hand turn and being inside the cab with windows rolled up didn't hear the sirens, I did and knew the ambulance was too close for him to make the turn. The trucker realized the ambulance was coming right as he started entering the intersection. As you know a diesel is pretty darn hard to stop on a dime LOL so he had no choice at that point but to keep going & pull out infront of the ambulance, but he sped up and did it as fast as he could to get out of their way.

My car is pretty darn sound proof & one day I had a pretty irrate fireman on my tail & didn't realize it, I felt bad knowing I held them up, even a few seconds can be precious....I just didn't realize they were there.

I don't think the cop was intentionally rude, if he was really on his way to an important call his adrenalin (sp?) is already pumping most likely and he doesn't have much time to pause & say "please excuse me, I need to get to the ax murderer berfore he gets to his wife" lol.

BUT, I understand how you could have gotten flustered. It wasn't intentional on either side, it just happened is all. Maybe next time you could look for a place to hasitlly park or get out of the way. Whenever you see lights no matter how far away it's good to take special note of them ASAP and already be looking for a way to get out of the way. Even if the cop was at a standstill, that doesn't mean he wouldn't have needed to suddenly accelerate your direction so best to be on guard next time. I don't think your mom should have jump on you (unless you cussed out the officer as he went by or something...that would not be good! lol)

I wouldn't loose too much sleep over it, just view it as a learning experience & move on :)

Anytime you see flashing red/blue lights behind you PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY. It doesn't matter if he is parked, get the H out of the way. Stop being a stupid teenager. You were in the wrong and somebody could have lost their life because of you.

If the police lights were flashing and sirens blaring one should move out of their way. Sometimes in the heat of a chase they might appear rude but they are only duing their duty. However, they cannot bump your car like they do in B grade movie car chases.

The police have the right, lives could be on the line and that's more important than your car.
