I reported domestic violence against my husband. We fought and he hit my face, I can't hear properly now.
However, I'm very suprise that they took him to jail.
I bailed him out and he have to go to court on Jan 17.
I receive the letter stating that it's him against the people of Illinois, and I am as the witness.
I remember I do not wish to press charge against him and do not sign any paperwork.
Police just ask me various info like dob, ph, etc.
What should I do? do I need to appear in court?
I mean, we did had argumeent and he did hit me, but I do not wish him go to jail and we want to work the marriage out for the sake of our son.
What should i do? oh yah, this is in Illinois.

I got a ticket for "failure to control speed so as to avoid collision" and when I went to court to fight it, the police officer didn't show up so they dismissed it without prejudice. They said that they can refile within a certain amount of time, but I don't know what that timespan is. I need more information on this ruling and the timespan. (I got the ticked in April).

When someone is arrested, It is silly to continually ask if it is "OK". Why not just say "do you understand ?" It is as if they are asking the person if it is "OK" to arrest them.... Of course it is not "OK". Is it just a way look down on the suspect ? or is it a very bad habit ?

The day after Thanksgiving I had to run out for my girlfriend for some milk, now I know it was stupid because I didn't have my license, it was suspended. I was pulled over because the officer said her plate wasnt visible, in which she had a temperary tag which was in the lower left hand side of the vehicle, plainly visible. None the less he gave me a ticket for driving on a suspended license and let me drive home. I now have my license back and have gotten a lawyer. My court date is comming up soon, what should I expect? This all happened in Michigan

I know a police detective works for the police department and the other is a privately owned or commercial detective. Does it cost money to use a police detective for a case or is it instead paid for by our taxpayer dollars?

Someone I know was fined for not cutting grass, running a junkyard, and four non-moving traffic violations. He is currently about to go to court over a bad check. (Check value about $175.) Does anyone know what states he could live in that wouldn't send him back to PA to go to court and jail? It may seem like a stupid thing to be running away from, but he's poor and he has a lot of food allergies that they are not willing to accomodate in jail, and last time he was there he went into anapalectic shock and almost died.

I live in Utah - I was told by the HOA that the other units that have done this did not get proper approval - and were completed under a previous HOA board. My point is that if they're not enforcing the rules against the other homes, how can they enforce them against me? I did speak to an Attorney who told me this was selective enforcement, and for a large sum of money he would submit a ceritified letter stating so. I'm not sure if he really believes in my cause - I think he just wants my $$.

Any suggestions?

3 years ago my brother got into a stupid drunk row with a shop owner, who called the police. No one was hurt but my brother was arrested. It was his first offence and he was sentenced to community service which he only completed half of.
He moved and they didnt seem to 'chase' him so he just left it and stupidly hoped for the best.
But this has been weighing over him ever since and he really wants to sort it out. But he is worried that it may not even be recorded that he didnt complet CS and he will have just red flagged himself for nothing.
what if they know he didnt finish and there is a warrant out for him - will he go to prison or will he just have to finish CS?
We are not sure if there is a warrant out for his arrest as since then he has travelled abroad to the Unites States and nothing happened. Surely he would have been stopped leaving and entering the UK if there was a warrant out for his arrest?
