I think most of us are capable of both wonderful and terrible things. I can't imagine what must have been going on in this man's mind when he did this, or how dreadfully terrified his poor children must have been.
People do sometimes behave extremely violently after drinking.
I hope his poor son and wife can find some peace in their lives. Unfortunately there's nothing anyone can do for their daughter.

The saddest part of the whole story in my opinion is the fact that the mother was in jail at the time of the death of her daughter because her ex had placed unfounded charges against her.
It is so sad that she has to deal with all of this. The loss of her daughter the near loss of her son and the knowledge that she was in jail at the time because of the murderer.
What a mess.

No-one is conscious, no-one cares, and all this company approximately being 'scene' is so pathetic and pretentious - fake names, ghastly hair and makeup, pretending to be somebody you at the instant are not - why can not you all be yourselves, be unique, be organic, be common and end being such vogue sufferers? If this daft tart desires to declare she's somebody else, enable her. What does it remember interior the great scheme of issues? loosen up. And study a thank you to spell that is, you're, and meant.

I think a mental illness drives you to do things like that, he obviously has some sort of illness because he was singing when the police found him. Nobody can drive you to that, not his wife! If my partner was driving me round the bend I wouldn't even think of hurting the kids! It says she was falsely accused of that anyway, even if she had attacked him, I can see why, he was off his trolley. I hate thinking about things like that, wish I'd never looked at the link! = (

This is clearly a case of someone who was beset with addiction; ill mental health and extreme personality issues. Does that mean he escapes punishment? NO. Frankly I believe he deserved a longer prison sentence that he received.

I think any sane person would find it really hard to comprehend a normal rational person doing this and even if you were completely paraletic it would not enter your head to do such a thing it is sad and shocking and inexcusable

The fear of never seeing their children again. He thought his ex was going to stop him from seeing the kids so he wanted to end all of their lives. The alcohol would have been to mask the deed he was hoping to carry out.
