Yes, but not just to murder them but to also to subjugate and disenfranchise them. The property-stealing thing didn't come until much later and it isn't aimed at minorities only. EVERYBODY is UN-fair game in the eyes of the Police State.
``God bless America?'' WTF? Does anybody ACTUALLY believe the Almighty would bless an evil and UNHOLY union of quasi-totalitarian POLICE STATES?

``The Man''
p/s In light of the fact that the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, an organization whose members enjoy substantial income from drug defendants, is so strongly opposed to the drug war as to issue a resolution calling for its end should tell us that something is very terribly wrong with the criminal justice system. Why else would they want to slaughter the goose that lays the golden, diamond-studded eggs?

It’s not an excuse, it’s because the government wants an easy way out. Too many people use drugs to the point where it is destructive. So for that reason the gov creates a taboo around drugs that can be destructive (...o wait that’s EEEEEEEVERY DRUG including every over the counter drug, under the counter drug, street drug, drugs found in the average household.-duh gov) Arbitrarily, the gov has chosen to make decisions on what drug is bad or good but this is where our gov is retarded because every drug is not good or bad, its neutral. It’s up to the legal or illegal buyer to decide how much and when, good or bad for you. Too many DO abuse though. What else is the gov to do besides to just dismiss the ones that have a higher likelihood of the ability to abuse like coke, or X, or meth? Because they don’t give a sh*t about the people who might just want to do these recreationally, they throw them out the window. I believe coke and other harder drugs (drugs that take a bigger toll on one's body) have no place in the human body, but I also know there are people out there who can maintain their health and still use hard drugs recreationally, just as one might go to a theme park to ride a roller coaster. Unfortunately, that happening is only found in a small amount of the people who do drugs. What should the gov do instead? The gov should be concerned with aiding in the maintaining of their populous' health. Maybe working on informing people of what constant use of hard and lite drugs do to people and putting money(which is what gov is all about) toward the implementation of programs geared toward that, will be a better solution instead of an F-ing WAR on drugs. DRUGS are everywhere in every home and biz. "The War on Drugs" has created a HUGE threshold where you must either NOT touch a recreational drug ORRRRRRRRR you do it all the time! That's bogus. Because of this, we will find people wanting to abuse themselves more, and other people creating hatred in them toward anyone who might think it might be OK to try a recreational drug. Thank you gov for making hatred! And I wouldn’t be saying this if I thought we couldn’t change, we can. The gov just has to stop polarizing us like FU*K. the end!
PS(this has nothing to do with how the gov treats drug using property owners and then steals their property, but I do think poverty stricken inner city area people are more likely to use very hard drugs and it would be stupid on the gov's part to ignore facts, but they already are because pot is illegal)
O and that person answer above mine is so ignorant, they can’t tell me they’ve never used aspirin......

NO! The war on drugs is a legitimate war. Drugs destroy everyone and everything.
Poor people many times get involved because of the money they can make. But, it's not just the poor who get involved. It's people from all walks of life.
Sounds as though you just want an excuse to hate the law enforcement community. I support them.
Do the crime, do the time!

The War on Drugs is a war on FREEDOM ITSELF. Even if you don't get high you should still want it to stop because it's a HUGE waste of money, police manpower, and prison space and it's COSTING YOU MORE MONEY THAN IT'S WORTH.
Our Constitutional rights to privacy and fair and impartial trials with juries of our ACTUAL PEERS (as opposed to pre-screened yes-men that rubber-stamp the state's bidding) have been obliterated in its name.
