Law Enforcement & Police - January 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Law Enforcement & Police

My husband is in law enforcement and through the years he has seen women who couldn't pass the arrest control portion of the training get hired on by his department. He's also seen minorities with very questionable backgrounds get hired, while a white male with the same background would never even be considered. By no means am I saying that all women and minorities are bad cops but I'm referring only to those who have been given preferential treatment because of their skin color and/or the absence of a penis. I'm talking about the cops that become slugs in the department and get into all kinds of trouble (sex, drugs, drinking, fighting etc...). Is it more important to you to have a well trained and qualified white male officer show up when you dial 911 or do you think promoting diversity is worth the risk?

I went to a club last night and I was frisked by the club's security by a person of the opposite sex. As she was frisking me, I asked her if I shouldn't be frisked by a man, and she said that the guy that usually does it was not around right now. As she was saying this, she touched my penis, I believe as a result of my question.

Were any of my rights violated or did my entry into the club constitue waiver of my rights?

I am a volunteer firefighter in Alabama. My station is looking to buy new radios. Anyone got any recommendations. We only use a few channels, and most of them have 100+ so that shouldnt be a problem. Our current ones are 150mhz, but we would like to upgrade to 400mhz if they are not too expensive. We have looked at a few Uniden Bearcats, but for whatever reason a lot of them say Nascar which is kind of stupid. We would like to keep them under $120 because we have to buy so many, we are volunteer, and we are financed by the government......that should tell you enough. Thanks for your help.
God Bless.

if your car is searched when your car was impounded because the police didnt have probable cause to search your car, and they had to wait until they could find a judge who would actually give them a search warrant, and during the search and drugs are found but the police didnt write it in the inventory of what was found in your car, can they still charge you for it? wouldnt that mean that legally they didnt find it in your car?

If someone was to retaliate, who do you think would be in the most danger the judge, prosecutor, jury or the defense lawyer? There have been cases where people come up murdered because of the outcome of a trial.

People are saying things, I'm hearing them, but when I say to other people what these people have said, they said I am delusional and need to take my medication.

Why are they saying to take medication? I can't prove any of this, beyond what I've heard with my own ears.
