In the State of Nevada the statute of limitations are:

Personal Injury: 2 years
Fraud: 3 years
Slander: 2 years
Injury to Personal Property: 3 years
Product Liability: 4 years
Contracts: 6 years

After the expiration of the statutory period, unless a legal exception applies, the injured person loses the right to file a lawsuit seeking money damages or other relief.

Too ambiguous - is this about a murder? Or a car stereo being stolen.

In the former - its never too late - in the latter - they won't even talk to you if you wait past when you discovered the stereo missing.

Generally the later you file the report, the harder it is to prove your case. Evidence have a tendency to dissipate.

it is NEVER TOO LATE to report it so it will remain on file, but as far as bringing charges you will have to speak to someone at the PD or the courthouse or an attorney.
