Is anyone out there an Evidence Clerk for a Police Dept.?

I know your question can be misunderstood easily as some departments are large enough to provide civilian employees to handle the positions of which you inquire. Other departments may not having the funding or manning therefore utilize officers specifically assigned as evidence custodians. In the smaller agencies...you will see some officer maintain their own evidence.
