Yesterday in downtown Atlanta an out of town history professor and author was arrested for jaywalking - thrown to the ground and handcuffed, because the cop didn't properly ID himself as a cop, and was questioned on who he was.

The past 12 months - 12 shooting deaths by DeKalb County police - one a 90 yr old woman when they broke down her front door on a bad search warrant

How far can we let cops go without being abused by the police force?

My husband and I have a criminal case against us that is built on fabricated evidense. The pictures the police took, which I received copies of today, prove it. They must not have expected us to ask for them? Who do we need to contact about this? The FBI? Also, who has the power to call up an audio recording of my husband's interrogation to further prove the officer was lying even at the police station? What can be done about bad cops and what can I do fast to avoid my family being further raked through the system?

I was dating a girl and she was a little loopy and wanted out of the realtionship. The way she did it is to say that when I gave her child a (slight) spanking that I beat the hell out of him. Thus me being charged with misdemeanor domestic assault. Now I want to know if I could have this expunged and own a gun to hunt with in MN? I have been denied employment because of this also.

They say for the second three months you can only drive with your immediate family. but how would they know. If you had one sibling and another person who wasn't, but was a close family friend, how would they know that they are not your other sibling?

Why is it that when I see an issue around town that involves police having to go investigate something, that there are always 3 cruisers? No more, and no less. is this an issue of training? and why 3, and not 4?

I was doing 84 in a 65 zone, and the cop wrote me up for the 84. How harsh will my penalty be? I have no accidents and one speeding ticket about 2 years ago. I also havent had traffic school in the past 18 months.

a friend of mine got his vehicle impounded by the police and finally when they released the car the towing fees and storage fees that were charged to him were through the roof! unfortunetly by this time he had lost his job and consequently became discouraged and just never bothered pursuing the vehicle nor made any effort to get it out (stupid...i know). What I want to know is what happens to the loan against the car and what has more than likely happend to the car itself?

A friend of mine was in a car accident with his friend after a party. My friend was 15 years old, and the driver was 18. Both were drunk, neither were wearing seatbelts, and they ended up not making the curve and my friend was ejected from the car and died hours later. Now his parents did not press charges against the driver, but the driver was scheduled for court dates (that's what I read on a local court site).

I'm trying to write a report on this accident and need some info. Since he did cause my friend's death would he go to jail? Or what would the judge order? And since my friend's parents didn't press charges what did that change in this whole thing? What happened to the driver once my friend died? Was he questioned... put in jail... ordered to do community service? Any info you can give will help with my report! I'm sorry if this was all confusing.

I have a friend who had gotten his 3rd dwi a couple years ago - clean and sober ever since. In the state of MN, in order to get your license back, you have to agree to never drink again and get a "b-card" and he is fine with that. However, right now he is going through an ugly divorce and he is afraid his ex-wife will call the DMV and report him for drinking even though he doesn't drink anymore. He thinks this is all it will take for him to lose his license for 3 years - I say they need proof. Does anyone know the answer to this?
