I have a friend who had gotten his 3rd dwi a couple years ago - clean and sober ever since. In the state of MN, in order to get your license back, you have to agree to never drink again and get a "b-card" and he is fine with that. However, right now he is going through an ugly divorce and he is afraid his ex-wife will call the DMV and report him for drinking even though he doesn't drink anymore. He thinks this is all it will take for him to lose his license for 3 years - I say they need proof. Does anyone know the answer to this?

I would guess that they need proof, but I can't be certain because I dont know what a b-card is and what kind of rights you sign away to get one. Be sure to read the fine print on the car. You might have to agree to turn over your lic, if there are court charges pending or whatever. I would guess the key would be in that B-card packet! but in case you are not sure, call the DBV and pretend to be a concerned citizen and ask what type of proof you need to turn in a drunken neighbor (or drunking boss or whatever). I am sure that they will be happy to tell you.
