All prisons have websites and some like deathrow sites have a list of inmates type in the name of the prison and send them an email or contact the court what sentenced him and ask if they can tell you where he was sent what about his family could they know good luck

If he is in jail and not prison go to the county jail where he got arrested and ask them if he is a resident. It is public information so they will tell you if they are there. Then if he has allowed you to be a visitor just go there during the posted visiting hours

If you know what County he was arrested in and sure that that is the crime he is in you can go to that county courthouse and ask.

Not sure about California but in Missouri we have what is called "casenet.net" and you can do a search for someone and there crimes.

If Califorinia has such a thing you would need to go to the California.gov and look thru there index for this.

Everyone gave you pretty good answers. I'll just add your state will have a dept of corrections website that is public record. Find that website and try there if you think it's a state or local prison.

Why are you doing this if he's your ex? Time to move on, and to let him move on with his life.
