let's say, ur company organized a competition for people to make a certain design. And one of the competitors submitted a design that's not his ( let's say he searched the internet and found something and then modified it) Should the judges dismiss him from the competition or what??

My opinion is that they shouldn't coz the awards you'll receive is based on designs not on people consciences am i right?

I live in Texas where the Highways arent finished but we build at least 2 new prisons every year.

My question is how do you feel that part of your tax dollars are going to feed criminals : convicted killers, child molesters, rapists, burglars etc..

When more important things such as schools and highways can be built.

Dont you just think we should send all of these people somewhere in some large prision in Antartica away from people and penguins where us law abiding citizens can have a better education and roads.

I dont like knowing im feeding criminals

It provokes me as a Swiss that I have to recognize in most questions automatically if they refer to USA. Practically nobody strives to indicate in his question which country it concerns. That does not only hurt. It can be rather arrogant and is political not correct.

Other English debating friends might feel the same. We live in numerous English speaking countries from Antigua to Zambia.

Can we also forget to indicate our country in our questions? Or have we to go to leave here?

After seeing some of the postings in here I really have to wonder. Granted, his going into IRAQ was a bad idea from the word go. Some of you think of him to be someone who can't walk and chew gum at the same time, and in the next breath are blaming him for everything from AIDS to Global warming. You can't try to have it both ways. Either or but not both. Or should we look at your last Co Presidents? Gee, Bill and Hillary(Queen of the Politically Correct). Do either of them know the meaning of the word ethics? I know some of you will label me with the evil, cold hearted, mean spirited, Conservative label. I am only rasing a point, and how do you defend yourselves, name calling, grow up.

If I understand the law correctly, dogs are held to a different standard that cats. As is owner responsibility. My cat is somewhat aggressive. Hense her name, Psycho B****. Anyway, from what I understand about the law, cats are considered somewhat wild. So, while it is true that she caused an estimated damage of $18,000.00 dollars of potential sales of chinchilla pelts, am I liable for the loss?

We laid off an employee about a month ago and he filed for and received unemployment. I just barely found out from another company that we do business with, that he has been working for them as a W9 contractor for several months now. He started just days after we laid him off.

Isn't it illegal to receive an income while claiming unemployment?

Who would I contact and what kind of proof do I need to file charges? I have an e-mail from the company's president stating which dates he worked for them.

Thanks

One of my close friends is in a bind.
His roommate - who has been a flake for the past few months w/ rent and bills - just happened to be arrested the day before rent was due.

Now my friend cannot get a hold of "Jack" and is forced to break his lease and move b/c he cannot afford the rent by himself.

Is there a way to see if someone was arrested or what ? We all think he's lying b/c he just happened to take his computer and some clothes with him the week before and wasn't in contact w/ my friend for 4 days prior. We know what he was 'charged' with and we live in the bay area, Calif.

Any help would be great b/c Jack is now in default of his lease agreement (which screws my friend) and owes my friend some money (which he could use to cover the deposit on a new place). Thanks !

Well, to be honest, I have nothing against the chickens, it's the roosters that start an horrendous noise about three o'clock in the morning. And go on and on till noon. I have tried hoseing them down with my garden sprinkler to no avail. I have talked to my neighbor about the problem but he in return beat my valet, Anthony, with a 5 iron. Now Anthony will not go outside the house and the noise continues. I simply need to get a good nights sleep.

I only ask because my maid Maria has told me that the car she has been living in for the last 2 years is now legaly considered her domicile. The problem is that it is on my property and she claims that since she has had "possession or use" of that space it should be considered as hers.
While I don't begrudge her a place to park her car, I don't think that I should have to transfer any property rights to her.

I have an offer from a company. I have been reading their Employment agreement and I don't see any clauses about voluntary resignation. There is a 6 month probationary period.

If I decide, within this 6 month probationary period, that this job is not a fit for me, can I just quit with 2 weeks notice? Will I have to pay anything back?

Thanks
