A group of my friends and myself are debating on whether or not child support is federal or state mandated. The group is pretty much split, with half saying it's federal and half saying it's state. But I say both, and they all think I'm full of it. What I mean by 'both' is that there is a National Child Support Enforcement System, and that, on the federal level, the Children and Families Administration of the Department of Health and Human Services provides a basic framework, so to speak, for federal legislation. HOWEVER, if the states do not wish to fully abide by all federal legislation, they don't have to [if it's only required in order to continue receiving funding]. Otherwise, yes, the states have to abide by the federal legislation. BUT, the states are free to pass their own legislation and create and enforce their own statutes and guidelines as long as they do not contradict the federal legislation [which is why many child support laws vary depending upon the state].

I was called to do my civic duty and was amazed to find that I would never want to go on trial in my state. The judge informed us all that we MUST be fair and unbiased. He said that we must be fair and that we could not even speak to one another about the trial. He also said that on our journey that we would learn all about the system. Well he was right I learned more then I really wanted to know. While I was sitting in the jury room there was all sorts of pastimes such as a good game of dominos or if you so desired you could break out your laptop computers and use them right there. In my state there is a open records act that allows you to pull records on defendents therefore exposing thier past and people being human I wonder how many look at this. There was also many cell phones with internet access. Would this not create bias if just one potential juror looked to see what a defendents past was like? And if so should thier sentences they got be looked at ? Is that fair?

My ex signed over his parental rights when my daughter was 2 and my husband adopted her. He has another daughter with a different woman (He and I were living together- he cheated on me- got this other girl pregnant which caused the breakup. The two daughters are only a few months apart). Even though he and I were no longer together and the other mother was not with him, she and I have done our best to form a friendship and remain in each others lives so our daughters could know each other. We don't discuss him in front of the kids or anything. We just get them together sometimes to play.
The adoption papers from when he signed over his rights to my daughter state no direct or indirect contact until she is 18 years of age- that goes for both sides.
He wanted to sign rights to his other daughter over as well, but the mother needs his child support to get by so it didn't happen.

I'm reading that a U.N. (an acronym that means UnNecesary as far as I'm concerned) "expert is saying that using food crops for fuel is a crime. Why don't these UNexperts mmake up their UNminds. Which is worse, Golbal Worming or using plants that absorb CO2 for fuel ? I thought that biofuels co2 output was offset by the CO2 the plants absorb while growing.
So I see no problem with using crops for this. I'd rather have a farmer sell soybeans, peanuts or corn for biofuel, than have hte government pay them not to grow crops or pay them for crops sent to other countries.

The reasons for the invasion appear to have been spurious, the government should rely on independent assessment, the elected members cannot just decide to invade countries in violation of international law.

If an apartment manger is told in writing that someone has more than one person living there (thus violating not only their lease but committing federal, fraud and they do nothing to investigate, are they libel for anything..could they be sued or anything..how much are they required to do if anything.

The situation is the lady signed federal forms swearing it was true under penalties of law that she was the only resident and swore to the amount of her income providing documents and release forms of all assets, but she did not list the incomes of 1-3 men also living there because she lied and did not put them on the lease. This is a federal crime if anyone were aware of it. If management has reason to suspect they lied on these forms, are they required to do any type of investigation or covert work to find out if it is true? It may require sending someone there several times to hear the males having their loud fights or talking or happening to see the men through the window in the

I had a client where I acted as the middle man to deliver appliances to their location. By some fluke, the vendor delivered two televisions by mistake and when I tried to return the spare, they wrote it off saying it would cost them more in man hours and shipping to worry about it. This was almost a year ago. The project in question has since been completed and they have all of the equipment they requested and do not have any knowledge of the television. So basically their is a television with no owner. So as you can all predict my next question, is it wrong to take the television for myself. Thanks.

What he said is right. The way he said it is wrong. Now he will lose his career over exactly what he said by the exact people he said would take it away. What ever happened to "Sticks and stones"? Now it's "That hurt me and I needs to gets my free stuff". When is this going to end? How much welfare is needed? I guess being a victim is better than living your life and perservering. The best revenge is Success but I guess that is too much to ask. Let the excuses begin.

Employer ignored medical documentation regarding on the job injury (FECA), failed to address the medical restrictions imposed by the attending physician for "returning to work on light duty".

Employers' violation of medical restrictions caused aggravation to injury resulting in loss of time (2 days) from work. Employer refused employees request for sick leave for these days, declared employee AWOL (no pay), and insisted that the employe NOW obtain medical documentation pertaining to the two days AFTER the employee has returned to work.

Employer failed to provide the name of the Dr. he would want the employee to go see, since the attending physician WERE the "Contract Medical Provider" for the company already!

I ordered a "NO OBLIGATION" trial of a product which I received. After that I received another product from them. Apparently it must have been one of those "we'll keep sending you stuff until you cancel" things. I did not read that, I do not want the product they sent and I never ordered it. The company keeps sending me bills which I have throw away (I think the first one went strait into the trash because I thought it was junk mail). It's only $10 or $12. In my opinion, NO OBLIGATION means exactly that, I don't have an obligation to tell them to NOT send me something and I don't have an obligation to pay for a product I never requested (implied or otherwise). When I called, I was put through a long menu that I finally gave up on. Will the company eventually just give up or what? I can't see them wasting their time and money for $10, but I don't know the law regarding this.
