I'm reading that a U.N. (an acronym that means UnNecesary as far as I'm concerned) "expert is saying that using food crops for fuel is a crime. Why don't these UNexperts mmake up their UNminds. Which is worse, Golbal Worming or using plants that absorb CO2 for fuel ? I thought that biofuels co2 output was offset by the CO2 the plants absorb while growing.
So I see no problem with using crops for this. I'd rather have a farmer sell soybeans, peanuts or corn for biofuel, than have hte government pay them not to grow crops or pay them for crops sent to other countries.

Someone should learn that there are many differnt kinds of corn, some of it inedible by humans. It isn't always food crops when talking about corn.

The problem is that in addition to turning some crops into fuel, the government is still paying them to not grow food or to send it to other countries. In two years, the price of corn has almost doubled in some places and in the last year alone wheat is up more than 25%.
Also, between the water and fertilizers used to grow the crops, the traditional fuel needed to transport and process the grain, and the actual emissions of bio-fuel, its very likely that they do more damage to the environment than regular 'ole oil.

Biofuel is a great alternative fuel.

Farming is good rather than global warming. UN must support farmers to produce goods but not to stop them from using biofuel.
