My teacher heard my friend talking about this. She can't be emancipated, but finds it almost impossible to live with her parents. She wants to live independently, not to go wild, but to lead a semi peaceful life so she can get through high school. I'm writing sort of a speech about this, and I thought others opinions might help.

Especially in the case of the student at Kerry's meeting.
I think it is ok to use them ONLY if the person is causing physical harm to the police officer or another person.
We are not animals! (And even animals shouldn't be shocked!)

This is exactly what the second amendment says: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Why do conservatives seem to conveniently forget the first part of the sentence? Doesn't this amendment mean that Congress cannot prevent a State from arming it's citizens in order to form, not a "militia," not even a "regulated militia," but a "well regulated militia." It seems to me that not only does this amendment allow for gun control, but in fact, it encourages it. Interpreting this amendment to mean that any citizen (or non-felon) has a Constititional right to own and/or carry a gun is preposterous.

I walked into the children's department of a library to use the computer for a printjob. The librarian told me that I cannot use the computer because "children need to use it for homework." There is no posting/message that says that. One computer was vacant and no one else was using it. She told me to go downstairs into the main library and use the computers there. I am 16 years old and no one in the past told me that I could not use a computer in the children's department. Should I consult the librarian's boss about the matter?

The U.S. constitution was created over 200 years ago.

The world has changed drastically since that time. For example, technology and racial mindsets.

Should a diverse panel of the most intelligible figures in the U.S. sit down in a room for a few months and rewrite the constitution?

Also, if you think it should be rewritten... what would be included or excluded today?

In YOUR opinion...

I stay in a dorm. I have a roommate, I do not know him. We have seperate rooms, almost like an apartment but no doors leading into the bedrooms.

One day I had gone out to class for most of the morning and when I came back, there were these bunch of guys in the joint room, basically a living room. i had never met them before but they say my roommate let them in. When I went to go talk to my roommate he wasn't in the dorm. I didn't really have time to ask them who they are and all that because I was already late for another class. But when I came back from finishing my last class I had gone to my room to get some money out my drawer and found nothing in it.

Is this a crime? Is there anything I can do about it.
Another thing, later during the day i found out there names.

If a deaf person goes to court is it still considered a hearing?

I am very unknowlegable about this, and the reading I've done thus far is written way over my head. I have a few questions, hopefully someone can give me some advice/insight in plain english.

Background: I took my ex-roomate to court last December(2006) over close to $2000 in rent/utilites she never paid before she moved out(without informing me beforehand). The judge ruled in my favor. She left for the Army-South Korea- shortly after the hearing. I had to hunt her down in Korea through military friends of my fathers, to even get in contact with her. Here is is almost October, and she still has yet to pay close to half the judgement.

My questions:
What is the time frame for a civil court hearing that she has to pay her debt to me?
What action can I take to make sure she pays me(She is a known liar and thief)?
She is threatening me with using the 'Soldiers and Sailors Act'. Is that applicable to soldiers in Korea(seems to me it only applies to Iraq) and what will that do

I posted a question on here the other day . The question was,( why did they ever give woman the right to vote ?)
Yahoo in their wisdom decided that this qoestion was in violatiion of their terms. I fully understand that this question may have offended some women, but surely in a free society were we are suposed to have free speech, i should have had the right to ask the question.Has it got to the stage were you cant question the quality of a loaf of bread without being brought to book for offending the baker. If any woman found the question offencive then they had the rite to post a comment, and express their dissaproval. The question did not contain any expletives. So all im saying is that in a free country. Yuo should be able to ask a question especially one that isnt braking any laws. What do you think?
