Im 15 years old and i smoke cigarettes. I know that buying them is illigal but is smoking illigal too? after school alot of ppl go off the high school grounds ( i go too) to smoke and principal always comes out and tells everyone to move away from the school to smoke. that means that it isnt against the law?

You are confusing the law and the principals job. He does not enforce the "general" laws but he does enforce the School Board policy on smoking on school property. The law states that you must be 18 to buy tobacco products and anyone providing them for you is subject to prosecution. That should tell you that it is against the law. Just because the police don't stop you if they see you smoking, does not mean it is lawful.

It is illegal to both buy and use cigarettes until you are 18. It's for your own good so that you don't get lung cancer when you're older. Don't be stupid. You're hanging out with the wrong crowd. I suggest you get a new group of friends.
