it should be ok to tell the public about a Clay County political figure that raped me 30 years ago along with his friend, but because of power and money..and the fact that it was 30 years ago I felt I could do nothing then. Now one of them is covering up a sexual assault that happened to his grandson and is forking out the big bucks and using his pull at the court house to protect his family "name" and could careless to the fact that his grandson was sodomized for years. So don't you think it is ok that I let the public know just how terrible these rich bas*ards are? Or will that still be considered slander?

Some days ago read in a local paper that the mayor was saying how much county had improved, and cited how there were less homeless. Apparently he doesn't go out much, not only round the downtown area where there seems to be more always. But also in the beach city area.

Today as I waited for the bus, I couldn't have believed it was for real, if I hadn't seen it myself. There were dozens and dozens just crossing at the intersection. Some seem completely sane, and even healthy, while others are in terrible shape.

This being South Florida someone would say that it's not unusual at beginning of winter for the homeless to move camp here from other states. But we're still in September!

These people need shelters, and recently_authorities had said these had filled up. And if this is any indication, there'll be thousands more in these coming months. But the mayor says all the contrary.

okay so I was at my friends house and I was drinking and didn't want to drive and my friend's girlfriend wanted some cigarettes so I offered to buy her, my friend and me a pack of cigarettes if she'd drive to the nearby store (very generous offer)

well I didn't have cash so I said "you can use my debit card but only get those 3 packs okay?" and she had seen me use it before and I'm guessing she watched me type my pin # because she went to an ATM and got out $20 and THEN went to the store and spent like $16.. then gave me my card back and I didn't find out untill I checked my account yesterday.

I'm thinking she thought I wouldn't notice since I have about 8k in that account.

she doesn't have a job so I already loaned her $200 before.. now I'm kinda mad and I want my money back but if I confront her she'll avoid me and never pay me back...

I just want my money back and I really don't trust being around her anymore. any advice??

I got a $150.00 ticket a few moments ago. Even thought I still got the ticket, my argument to the officer was if he was carrying a nine pound baby on his bladder and it is 90 degrees here, wouldn't he have trouble walking too. The jerk still gave me a ticket!!! Whatever happened to chivalry. lol.

I understand there either has been or will be a mandate by the FCC that Wireless Base Transmission Stations will need to have 8 hours of power backup, possibly in the form of battery backup. This recommendation came out of Review of the Impact of Hurricane Katrina on Communications Networks.

I'm trying to find out if that "8 Hour Battery Backup" was either a recommendation or some sort of an official mandate/ruling from the FCC?

I was able to find this document on the FCC website, but its just the write-up of the Review. It doesn't specify what any rulings or mandates might have been.

Thanks.

We both own home; want him to move; he agrees; still pays mortgage; we put house for sale and we split profit 50/50 right? He owns a business; I don't want any of that but it might be hard to get child support from him because I can't garnish his wages because he works on commissions and keeps bad records. How would that play out? Can I get spousal or just child support? I only ask because I pay everything now but the mortgage which I would not be able to do if we divorced so I need to see what monies I would have to keep a roof over my childs head short of having to move back out of state with my parents and taking him from his dad and friends which I don't want to do.

I don't want the house; its too big; an apartment is fine but even rent on a decent apt. is $1,000 per mo. so I'm trying to figure how I would do that and what his obligation is to me and our child financially in the state of Florida. This is holding me back from making my decision. Any advice?

I know there is new legislation re school food, but from what I have read it only applies to food supplied by the school. There is guidance on packed lunches but as far as I can see no statutory obligations for parents. Therefore does school have the right to remove or even question what a parent has included in their child's lunchbox ?
Thanks

I have been taking care of a friend's little boy while she works for several months. Court paperwork dictates that she pay 48% and the father pay 52% of the childcare expenses. She has been paying me her portion plus part of the father's portion from the get go, as he has not ever paid a cent toward his childcare. I finally started giving him bills, and he has asked for my tax identification number, which I now know is my social security number.
I don't feel safe giving him my SSN, as he is not a trustworthy person, and I believe does things that are possibly illegal. Do I have to give him my SSN in order for him to claim childcare expenses on his taxes? Can he just give them my name and address? I already know I have to and will claim the income from this on my taxes. If I don't give him my SSN, does that mean he doesn't have to pay me for his child's childcare that I have provided?

Why/when would a state get involved in collecting child support when the child support order is in another state (CP is in the state where the order was issued and the NCP lives in another state.)

The specified amount of child support is being withheld from a paycheck. The employer is sending it (or supposed to be sending it to the CP state collection agency). What happens if the employer isn't sending it? What responsibility does the NCP have if it is being withheld and not paid? The NCP has called to verify payments and the employer is saynig that the support is being paid in the correct amount to the correct person.

Thanks for the answers!

I have a relative who is 41, he has just been told that he has to leave his job in social care because of a conviction for Arson when he was 12. This resulted from him being with an older boy who placed a banger, on November the 5th, through a letter box. All he can remember about this, is that the boy, was a local nutter and he can't remember why he was with him anyway. He's had many problems over the years because of this conviction even though he was juvenile because all that the record sais, is "Arson" and not the circumstances. But this is the first time he has lost employment over it, as you can see from the above, he now feels he is in a hopeless situation, unless he can remove the title of the conviction (downgrade) to say criminal damage, or get the conviction removed altogether.

In the early 1970’s I joined the US Coast Guard and swore an Oath to uphold the laws of the USA. During my service I made friends closer than brothers. We risked our lives to enforce US maritime safety laws, port security, anti-narcotic patrols and anti-illegal immigration operations. I am proud of that service and the men and women who sweat, cried and bleed with me. Some of them died that others might live. 27 personal saves and crew for 275 other saves are not the least of the service. Some shipmates died on those patrols doing rescue of fools who were trying to break our laws. Now people say that they have a right to break our laws. Those statements throw away the lives of my shipmates. American, illegal alien, or politicians one and all are despicable! Is it wrong for me to hate those who would do that?

Is it ok to take my little girls father to court for child support, he doesn't pay anything. I have issues with it only because I'm not perfect either and have problems paying my bills. So I wonder if I need to take the plank out of my eye...before I take the speck out of his eye? Does that make sense?

There are a limited number of places that a female juvanille will go. The only place in fact is in Caliente, Nevada. The males have 3 levels of placement from minimum, medium, and maximum. They only put the female offenders in the first one in the minimum security. This could be conceived that the males are given more opportunity to straighten out thier lives and given more realistic treatment for repeat offenses and higher criminal acts where the females will just end up back at the same place they were before again and again until they end up in adult prison because they were not held up to the same letter of the law as male juvinilles. This is unequall treatment or predujudice against female offenders because they were given the same opportunities as a male offender would be given to fix their problems.Let someone know who needs to know of this information may it come of use to them in a case. Thank you and paste and copy as you see fit to make others aware of this gross injustice.
