Especially in the case of the student at Kerry's meeting.
I think it is ok to use them ONLY if the person is causing physical harm to the police officer or another person.
We are not animals! (And even animals shouldn't be shocked!)

I think that a tazer is an effective instrument when it comes to crime deterent.

I do not think that the kid at UF deserved to be tazered, especially because he was on the ground and handcuffed when he got tazered...but I don't know the whole story.

The kid, of course, was an ***. And if I were sitting next to him while he was doing his show or whatever he was doing I would have tazered him myself for being such a dick. But I don't think the police should have tazered him.

Obey the law and any ground rules where you are at and you will never need to worry about being tased. The taser is probably the best weapon the police have now. No injuries and no lasting effects. Gets the job done quickly. People that don't like tasers, also don't like to obey the law. Perhaps we could get signs that say "Don't taser me, shoot me or beat me". Now thats freedom of choice.

The funniest thing is I have seen 6 different videos of cops using those on suspects. After reading all the comments I formed two conclusions.

Every time the person being tasered was black, he/she deserved it.

Every time the person getting tasered was white, it was an outrage that made national news.

This is 100% my observation.

The baton is the old way and effective. But that really hurts..
the Tazer is not as bad as being beating with a baton.
Or the choke hold that when done wrong will kill someone.
Taze away but leave the baton and choke hold out..

I strongly agree with the use of tazers. One because its non lethal and two no one gets hurt and its less dangerous of the police.

YES I DO, AND AN OFFICER USES IT FOR PROTECTION

SOMETIMES YOU DO NOT SEE THE PERSON DO WHAT BROUGHT ON THE TAZER TREATMENT BUT IF THE GUY DID NOT OBEY THE COMMAND THE OFFICER HAS A RIGHT AND A RESPONSIBILITY TO DO WHAT HE DID.

Only when 5-6 big burly police officers can't handle one skinny man at a rally.
