Law & Ethics - July 2007

My husband's grandmother is very ill. Grandma is in the hospital and her alcoholic/druggie daughter (husband's aunt) is using her house. SHe has another woman living there right now too (she met this woman in rehab). We believe they are cleaning grandma out - jewelry, checks, etc. We will be visiting the house today, kicking the women out and changing the locks. Need to take care of grandma's cats - how else can we protect grandma (not able to make own medical decisions or anything). Thanks for ANY HELP!

Now that we have got rid of the *** smokers let us now get rid of the piston engine, that useless piece of engineering that should have been confined to history fifty years ago. I am an old man now yet as a young lad I drove an electric milk float, surely the oil companies are holding back progress. If what I read is true then the fumes from these old fashoned engines are killing millions of people every year as well as destoying the ozone layer.Is'nt There someone oit there who has the guts to start a movement to block the roads in our towns, cities and villages and even the motorways to force the goverment to change there policies? They won't do anything until they are forced to so it's up to us to make them. If the animal rights can do it illegally then surely we can do it legally? One of you out there will proberly go down in history as being the person to start the movement to get rid of the piston engine. I feel bad for the guy. Here he was bullied into the whole thing and now he is sitting in suppermax for the rest of his life. I saw one old picture of him and his son Josh feeding a baby dear with a bottle by the woods and I dont think a nice guy like that whould be locked away in a tiny jail cell.

Basically i got told that if a company provides clothes to wear at work or you have set clothes to wear at work then you are not allowed to smoke in them-basically you have to change out of them to have a *** during work times. this sounds a little extreme and was wondering if it were true.

We were canoeing and banked to have a cook out. We grilled had some drinks and then cleaned up all wrappers and baggies except for one bottle. Left the bank then we were called to the other side by some "Conservation Police" that had just come out of the trees. An air boat pulled up and they asked us what we were up to. They then proceeded to run my record on their laptop.

While questioning me they asked where my hot dog wrappers were, where my mikes hard bottle was, were our daquiri bottle was, where the cheese wrappers were, and the plastic from the mini grill. I had them all but one bottle and I received a $75 ticket or I can go back (1.5 hours) and goto court. Is there any way to fight this? it seems like they watched us the entire time we ate with binoculars (around their necks) - kind of creepy

Michael Mullen raped and murdered his 2 year old niece.
Today he was sentenced to serve a minimum tariff of 35 years.
Sounds like a long sentence? Mullen is only 21 years old, so if released after that time would still only be 46. Surely in such a case he should be told -- life means life?
How many years of life, achievement and happiness did he deprive that little girl of?
Any opinions?

In the US...if you are charged with some online scam, where the case is flimsy to begin with, can you pay off the money you supposedly owe and avoid a trial? Or do they make you go to trial for sure? If you get convicted at the trial, do they definitely give you jail time or can you get off with some fines?
Anyone who knows the mechanics of how it works. I was set up by someone I trusted who used my ebay and paypal and bank account information to pull scams that i am now watned for. The net amount is 30,000 dollars. Can anyone help? What'[s the worst I can expect?

In u.k. is it legal to advertise an event as "Free" and then apply a caveat in order to gain admission. e.g. The disco is advertised as free but on arrival you find there is a buffet laid on and it is compulsory to pay £5 contribution towards the food or you can't get in.

My brother died in February of 2005 in, Polk County Florida...The Medical Examiner,reported him as being 6 feet tall..when in fact he was 6'6" tall... said "the nose is straight"...like hell it was ,he had been in a bar fight years ago,and had his nose broken,by way of being hit with a hammer! When it came to his heart she made no mention of his "Stent"...when asked by my mother,why she had not put it in the report. She told my mother he didnt have one! Mom told her she was looking at his medical card.. as they were speaking...and yes he did! The ME went back to the Polk county Sheriffs office to let them know. They just said Oh its him,we asked "a family"! Also she reported no cirrhosis of the liver...his heart was enlarged from years of drinking and fact...his liver had been damaged too. How do we get someone to listen to us?...that was NOT him, we do not think he is alive and well....we think foul play!

As these Western Oriental Terrorists (herein after called WOTS) seem to be against our culture, whether it be religion or otherwise, can escape notice, and try to push, THEIR culture onto the freespeaking world, should we not fight back and use EXACTLY the same laws as they use against our women in THEIR countries. The main and obvious being to be able to identify persons. Failure to do so would mean an automatic "opportunity" to visit an open public gallery court appearance and if they are of immigrant status, also the "opportunity" to have an aeroplane flight back to their own country.
We already have a situation whereby people with bad heads do not need to comply with the crash helmet law, (they do if they visit the rest of Europe). Lets explain to these persons, our laws are thus, they are there for a reason, if you do not like them, sod off...
Many many persons of all religions, christians atheists, muslims, are sick of being singled out when extremists get what they want.

My nieces have had black eyes, bruises, diaper rashes so bad they turned into open sores & bled, they've had their stomachs pumped for eating dice, drinking kerosene. They've gone days without being fed, and weeks without being bathed.

Child Protective Services has gone to their house dozens of times and the most they made them do was clean up the house because there were dirty diapers and garbage and mold everywhere.

Their mom is bipolar and their dad has other mental and emotional disabilities as well. Their parents often goes hours and hours without feeding themselves, and neither of them bathe more than once every few weeks. The girls are treated the same way.

Their mom is addicted to pain killers and has a reputation for stealing from friends and family. When the girls get hurt and taken to the emergency room, she suddenly gets ill or her back hurts and she has to get seen at the hospital, too. I suspect that she hurts them so that she can be seen at the hospital, too.
HELP!

If it is not legal, they will have to bribe the third party ( police ). People who do not have a sex partner in his life, can easily use them without fear. It will reduce the rape cases. People fear going to these places as it is called red light area. Prostitutes should be banned for girls below 18 years. Proper condomn should be used, HIV checking. If it is legal all this will be checked. It will be kept clean.

why is it so whenever we enter Anti-India Crew (AIC), a Pakistani hacker group, osama bin laden, and like wise any other terrorist organization, we are unable to fine there official websites through any search engine even google.

Can you keep it? Or would you want to keep it? Will it be something you have to give back or could you sell or otherwise be compensated?

Frankly depending on the options I would like to see someone either create confusion by switching balls or havng multiple balls so there is always doubt.
