If you're travelling by plane, you have to call the airline. Each airline has a specific rule about guns being declared; and ammunition.
If you're driving, you need to know the laws for each individual state, and as you pass state lines, follow the law. Some have an open carry allowance, some make you store it out of reach, and some require that it stay in the trunk.
IF you get pulled over, don't talk about it unless the officer asks.
Below is a general gun law link from Wikipedia. As a general rule, anyone can post anything on Wikipedia, so don't trust it as gospel, but if you have a question regarding specific states, you can also call the NRA chapter in your state.
You are only carrying concealed if it is not fully visible; and some states don't allow that, and therefore must be in the trunk. Putting it in your purse is considered "concealed", and the concealed permit is only good in states that have carry/concealed laws.
For instance, it's almost impossible to get a concealed permit in California, and you can't walk around with a gun on your side.
But you can walk down the street in Arizona with a sidearm showing and it's legal and accepted, and anyone can get a concealed permit if they take the course.
Hope this helps. :) Best wishes in your travels.

as long as you are in a motor vech, and the gun is not illegal in that state, you do not need a permit.
you vech is an extention of your home and "concealed weapons" laws do not apply, even though cops try to make it sound that way!
Other than martial law, they have no right to even ask!
Now, planes and other public transportation is a different story!
and regardless of what others say. This is accurate information!
And i would ignore the pothead below this post, he is too high to give good advise! lol

Yes. It is legal so long as the gun is registered, and even if you do not have a valid gun license. It is your own property. How ever, if you are a convicted felon, or are on parole, and you are restricted from owning a weapon, than you may not have said weapon in your possession. It really depends on the circumstances. Town ordinances may also play a role.

It is too bad we have so many idiots passing laws that only restrict the use of legal gun owners. The criminals do not consider the law when they carry thier guns. I would be more concerned about my own personal safety regardless of the law, since the law in effect only protects the criminals. It seems only smart to protect yourself first. I do not leave home without my gun. It would be better to pay a fine, or have a gun confiscated than to be dead or caught in a situation needing a way to defend yourself, or someone else and because of stupid laws be unable to do so. I guess the 2nd amendment is history nowdays if people are thinking like this.

It depends on whether you have a right to carry permit from GA and whether your route takes you through states that recognize your GA permit. Some states won't. See the NRA website for more info.

Every state has different laws. In California you can carry a gun if you have a fire arms permit or if the gun is carried in a locked box with the clip or ammunition stored separately.

its generally not cool to cross state lines. concealed weapon permit in michigan means nothing in california and so on. just don't try to buy crack or stay in a hotel for less than 50$ a night and you'll be fine.
