My brother died in February of 2005 in, Polk County Florida...The Medical Examiner, reported him as being 6 feet tall..when in fact he was 6'6" tall... said "the nose is straight"...like hell it was ,he had been in a bar fight years ago,and had his nose broken,by way of being hit with a hammer! When it came to his heart she made no mention of his "Stent"...when asked by my mother, why she had not put it in the report. She told my mother he didnt have one! Mom told her she was looking at his medical card.. as they were speaking...and yes he did! The ME went back to the Polk county Sheriffs office to let them know. They just said Oh its him,we asked "a family"! Also she reported no cirrhosis of the liver...his heart was enlarged from years of drinking and fact...his liver had been damaged too. How do we get someone to listen to us?...that was NOT him, we do not think he is alive and well....we think foul play!

We went down to Florida, first stop was McLean Funeral Home,Where I asked to see my brother, and was told flat out NO! So none of us from Michigan had a chance to see him before he was cremated. So we do not know if he is dead...except no one has seen him! The funeral personal, told me they had never met him so they could not tell me if it was really him or not! And not one picture of him was at "his" funeral. Kinda like everyone showed up but my brother. The Sheriff told me " you had better be careful of who you accuse of Mudder" So I'm being careful...dont want to be next...to go!

Contact the District attorneys office with every piece of Medical and Dental information you can get hold of . Standing pictures (to verify height) would be good and any ID cards that you can get hold of. Close up photos (if he is identifiable).

You may have to call repeatedly. Maybe dna testing.

Good Luck from a Hillsborough country resident.

It should be pretty simple. If the brother or mother of the misidentified corpse view the body and say without a doubt that is not him then an ME would have to be an idiot to claim they are wrong. If the ME decided to be remarkably anal about this then your brothers drivers license will list his height and people do not usually shrink by 6 inches. Medical record would confirm the other details as would a bill for the stent. If that truly doesn't budge the medical examiner then report all of this to the state attorney generals office and hire a lawyer to put legal pressure on the ME and Sheriffs office.
Frankly, if an ME insist that medical records, drivers license, medical billing and the sworn testimony of 2 family members is not sufficient to doubt an identity then he would have to be a world class idiot.

Well you're right, this is seriously fishy. And the ME is part of the scam. Contact the FBI missing persons bureau in Miami and tell them the story. They are the ones with jurisdiction.

One question though: how do you know your brother died in 2005 if this ain't his body?

Try contacting someone at the state level and obtain documentation that will support your height, weight, injury reports. Get copies of drivers license records (you may have to pay) but the list descriptions usually. Get doctors reports, copy of death certificate anything you can think of to support your position. Contact Dr. Baden on HBO's autopsy. He may be interested or possibly refer you to someone who can help.
