What is the waiting period for the state to go after someone for not paying thousands of dollars in child support.

This person who hasn't paid child support in years, keeps filing disability... gets rejected... and files again in the state we are currently in (Indiana). In Indiana, before the child support people can do anything about the payments, one can be denied and reapply for SSI disability. Even though this person will probably never get SSI disability, she'll never have to pay child support as long as she keeps pending applications for SSI because of the loophole.

After letting Michigan's deficit balloon to $802 million, you would think that the state's lawmakers had finally done their worst. Well, think again. In one of its most irresponsible and incompetent acts yet, the state legislature slashed $179 million of that deficit on Friday by either postponing or cutting funding to state universities and community colleges. Quite literally, it borrowed from Michigan's future.

Here is a link to the amount of job losses in Michigan due to the Governors inability to do her job:
http://www.migop.org/jobs_lost.asp

I have lived in Michigan for the last 14 years and I have never had a problem finding work.
Having worked in the auto field for over 16 years and knowing how to customize and custom paint.
It is now next to impossible for me to find a job. I have been out of work for 14 months and I am about to leave the State like many others have already done.
As a EX-UAW worker, now out of work again due to Granholm, is anyone else sick of her ??????

This is my situation. My bf. and I just signed a lease, starting August 1st. At first the landlady seemed really nice. She wanted to do some work in the apartment, put a shower in a spot where it wasn't before, put washer and dryer and move a wall!!!!!This was 6/7 weeks ago.She got one and half month deposit + first month in her hands. We got no keys yet.At first she said that when the workers would be working, we could start moving things in and close the bedroom door.Three weeks ago, we saw the place again and there was no work started yet.So, I called her and asked, are you sure we are going to have an apartment ready on August 1st?She got defensive and said of course, you signed a lease! Now she changed her mind and she won't let us go into the place, not even to take measurements to see if we can fit stuff. She said no, the place will be avaiable on August 1st!My question is what can I do if the place is not ready and if she is not willing to give us the money back,to look elsewhere?

I was under the impression that all businesses operating in the state of California are to comply with a 7 minute "grace period" for employees who are running late - and that only after the 7th minute, they are considered late. Am I wrong in this? If anybody has input or even a state website that states this, could you please post it? And to be clear - this isn't just in regards to state workers - all businesses in California. Thank you for your help...

Hey, drug users OD all the time because they get a strong batch. We should make heroin legal so they are sure to know exactly what they're getting.

Or I like this one: women were hurting themselves murdering their unborn babies illegally, so we should make it legal.

If, as Bush asserts, the Executive Branch was never involved in the attorney firings in the first place, why does Bush feel the need to order Harriet Miers to not testify about it? Why does Bush have to order Harriet Miers to not testify about something that allegedly never happened?

I don't care if attorneys serve at the pleasure of the President - that is not what my question is about.

All I'm asking is, if Bush/Cheney/Rove, et. al., were not involved in the firing of the eight attorneys, then why would Bush need to order Harriet Miers to not testify about something that Bush says never happened in the first place?

On a vist to a local Shop i had a nasty fall when i slipped on a caution sign that was LAYING FLAT on the FLOOR.As i fell i twisted my shoulder and hit the floor with my knee. My knee has swollen up and has a nasty bruise from where it hit the sign and floor.
This happend right in frount of the check out tills where there were 4 till staff members none of which came to my assitance. After paying for my goods i got upset that none of the staff asked if i was all right until i pulled my trouser leg up to look at my knee and pointed out the swelling. As i was walking out of the store i was asked for my name and address for the accident book.
Now what happens?

I have found that I am more and more frustrated with dealing with government agencies and other service related fields. For example, I sent in an application form and my CEU certificates to get my teaching certificate renewed. I received a call yesterday stating that I did not send in an application form, but they did get my CEU's. The application form and CEU's were attached and mailed in the same envelope. The office staff lost it and then acted as if I was in the wrong. They didn't even have the curtesy to apologize for losing my application form. They said that they were "doing me a favor" by letting me fax the application. Because of their negligence, I had to print out and fill in another form and drive 25 miles to my husband's work to fax it to them.
Another pet peeve of mine are people who work for the public who are not courteous or devote attention to their customers. I was wondering if any of you are disgruntled or had problems with the general work force.

If you look, you see that for the most part, girls think they can drink and not be responsable for themselves but a guy drinks and he is. My QUESTION: Should BOTH parties be penalized in these cases of Voluntary drunkeness actions?
Or should we have a drink limit set for us by law to bar such actions (at least in public places), or should we revert to Proabition again (boy would that be a step backwards).

solutions?

Last november my man gave me 1800.00 for a car. He gave me the money and I purchased a used car. The dealer, who is a friend of his put the purchase price of 500.00 in order not to pay so much in taxes. The receipt says CASH RECEIVED with my name and the dealers signature. I have the title in my name. registration, as well as insurance.
Anyway I had been trying to break up with this guy for a while and to get him off my back I wrote him a check in the amount of 100.00 with the memo saying 1st car payment. This would be an indication that I was trying to pay him back.
I know he has a lawyer but will all of my paperwork be sufficient to win in court?
I don't think the dealership would disclose the real price of the car if they did what consequenses would that have on their business?
Thanks

A pack of Murdering scum who were given consecutive life sentences and had their files marked "never to be released" for a savage pack rape and brutal murder in Sydney have now been granted a new trial because a stapple was missing from a filed defence document. This case shocked a Nation and led to new "truth in sentencing" laws meaning a life sentence would mean life ! So what about victims rights and their families. What if it happened to your family ? If you hunted down these animals and executed them due to Post Traumatic Stress would you be understood in a court of law for your justified actions ?
