On a vist to a local Shop i had a nasty fall when i slipped on a caution sign that was LAYING FLAT on the FLOOR.As i fell i twisted my shoulder and hit the floor with my knee. My knee has swollen up and has a nasty bruise from where it hit the sign and floor.
This happend right in frount of the check out tills where there were 4 till staff members none of which came to my assitance. After paying for my goods i got upset that none of the staff asked if i was all right until i pulled my trouser leg up to look at my knee and pointed out the swelling. As i was walking out of the store i was asked for my name and address for the accident book.
Now what happens?

Nothing. Unless you do something.

Did you require medical treatment? Is there a permanent injury? Are there other expenses [e.g., crutches] related to the injury? Did you miss work? Did you need to hire temporary help?

If your costs are not to great, you can [if you wish] submit a bill for costs to the store manager. Make sure that you have proof of delivery.

If the store pays your costs, then that's it.

If they refuse to pay, you may take them to small claims court or hire a lawyer to help you collect. Remember, a lawyer will take a big chunk out of any court ordered settlement.
