If you look, you see that for the most part, girls think they can drink and not be responsable for themselves but a guy drinks and he is. My QUESTION: Should BOTH parties be penalized in these cases of Voluntary drunkeness actions?
Or should we have a drink limit set for us by law to bar such actions (at least in public places), or should we revert to Proabition again (boy would that be a step backwards).

solutions?

Personal responsibility and education are what came to mind first. But also, I know that Virginia (where I live) has very strict alcoholic beverage laws, and that if a bartender continues to serve someone who appears intoxicated, that the bartender (and the establishment) are guilty of violations of the Alcoholic Beverage Code.

That would not impact private parties, though, such as parties in someone's home. But I think everyone (men and women) need to take personal responsibility for keeping their judgment sound and not getting so intoxicated that their judgment is impaired.

That said, NO still means No regardless of anything.

If your both drunk or drinking than hell thats a party and YES she asked for it ! I dislike the pathetic cry babies who plead otherwise. If there was new legislation for alcohol consumption than women would cry prejudice do to their lower tolerance.

Its actually getting harder to stay in a pub drinking these days because of the "Responsible Service of Alcohol laws" if bar staff believe you've had to many for the average person you can be asked to leave, even though you may feel ok ! If you don't, well we all know how many deaths bouncers cause upon hapless patrons every year, and if you do have some size about you they seem to like the challenge !

It's not girls who feel they are not responsible for themselves when they drink - it's the law. The law says you cannot give your consent to have sex when you're drunk. You know this before you ever enter a bar or have a drink. Just don't have sex with a strange girl after drinking and you're fine.

Rape victims have been punished for years. They used to be quizzed by cops, lawyers and judges about their sexual history, what they were wearing, why they went to someone's home - it's all blaming the victim. Punishing a rape victim for having a drink would be more of the same.

If you've learned that you can't use good judgement after drinking, maybe you should give it up instead of trying to blame other people.

Consenting adults should be able to do anything they want to. Drunk drivers are responsible for 30% of all traffic fatalities. That means 70% are caused by sober drivers .Lets stop the MADDness! Sober drivers should be barred from driving between the hours of 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.Women should have to carry a permit showing they are old enough to have sex and should give a chit or some other form of tangable concent form to the prospective lover. that way the dude can produce his permission slip to prove he did not hit her on the head and force her to get drunk then rape her. Just in case get her on your cell phone video giving you permission to touch her naughty parts. Get real the only way to drink and have sex safely is to take one beer and lock yourself in a dark closet and dream about sex. The days of wild drinking and sex are no longer legal in this country if you dont like it Speak UP , and VOTE!

Not sure sometimes I have heard that they can be bothh arrested for disturbing the piece if they were fighting or causing a ructous in public like broke a window , let's say and if even he threw her head in and caused a battery they can both be arrested for disturbing the peace, it could be called provocation on her part.
Also if they were in an appartment together she could be asking for trouble, or if she does not want him in her own place then don't let him in, and if he insists then he is being the nusance this time, so it's give and take.
But if they are both silly why not some girls enjoy that , but don't like to go to far, then she could be called what's referred to as a "teaser".
Or he could be known as a "Don Won" thinks he's the town stud. She's up for pickings and the little town flirt, and he can sing "Hat's Off to Harry" she broke my heart ECT>

For one thing, the earlier question asked on the other posting concerned statutory rape which is with an underaged person. Now as far as BOTH PARTIES are concerned...Why is the person of age drinking with a minor, someone underaged? Possibly to get them intoxicated to take advantage of them sexually without a fight? They weren't considering the law too clearly then were they?

Dude, just suck it up! Until the ERA is passed (and it NEVER will be) men will always be held responsible for what ever happens. All of the questions you've asked drive home the same basic point that women are not, will not, do not, can not be made responsible for their actions and they don't want to be because then they couldn't blame us! That's why the ERA will never be passed.

both parties need to be responsible , with both drinking and their sex life . girls need to be aware of their surroundings , who they are with and where they are . i am a girl and there are unfortunately people out there who prey on girls, it only takes one moment , one more drink to put themselves in a bad position and one could argue that it would happen without the drinking but it puts girls in a position to fight less and not be thinking appropriately . so , each person is responsible for their actions whether or not they have been drinking

Drinking has nothing to do with it. Rape by definition is forced. It doesn't matter how much alcohol is involved, No means No. If a woman gets drunk and is raped, it is 100% the fault of the rapist.

No girl says wants to gets drunk and get raped evan If she acts a little sexy, guys play that game too. That like you saying something stupid and then me having the right to slap you or to know be smart enough to walk away. When a Girl say no she means no then put it back in your pants.
