I just turned 18 and my parents have been getting Social Secruity for me because my dad is disabled. When it came in it had my name on it and no one else. It usually says "Pay to the order of Diane McKinney for Chris McKinney" but this time it stated "Pay to the order of Chris McKinney" and that was it. It is for the month of Feb. and I turned 18 March 19, 2007. The check came in today March 20 with only my name on it. Any help?

In New Hampshire the statute of limitations (sec. 508.4) provides that a lawsuit must be filed WITHIN 3 years.

IF injury occurs on December 15, 2003, and lawsuit is filed ON December 15, 2006, then it has been 3 years and one day (filed one day after three years). Is this timely in New Hampshire. (Site case or article if you can).

PS Assume known defendant, known injury, so discovery rule is not an issue.

The defendant and I signed a stipulation. I was to recieve payment on a certain date. I did not. Instead she chose to pay the restitution that she had 6 months to pay or 90 days if she wanted to get off probation early. What should I do to defend myself against her motion to set aside judgement? Should i respmd with an answer?

The amount of information that passes through the television, through the internet, the newspapers and even through word of mouth is astounding. Are there some things that should be kept secret or from the public for their own safety or do you feel that the general public has the right, needs to know everything? Tell me your feelings on it, be thoughtful, honest and specific. Remember there is no right or wrong here, just a free exchange of thoughts on the matter.

I'm absolutely amazed at the number of people who don't understand these two principles which date back to the very founding of this nation.

Because I'm going to volunteer to help elementary aged kids with homework. The sheet is pretty straight forward, probably too straight forward. I have a question though, what exactly do they mean by "crimes against nature"?

Im having problems with my OLD cable company. I moved out of my old apartment THREE months ago-I purchased a house. Im STILL getting bills for the cable service & they have NOT shut it off at the old addy. People live there now Ive called & gone into the office SEVERAL times & work orders have been put in to have service shut off but everytime a tech goes out the NEW resident says "dont shut it off im Melisa and I didnt ask anyone to shut it off there has been a mistake" well point is, I AM MELISA not them I have proven that with id credit cards etc they are even sending the bill to my NEW address Isn't there someone I can contact about this? Ive talked to supervisors they keep assuring me service will be shut off but it never gets shut off Im still receiving a bill and now they are threating to turn me into collections! what do I do? Ive tried to look up utilities commission in my state but no luck. isnt the new resident stealing & committing fraud?

Parents are divorced.Mother leaves 7 yr. old w/the 13 yr. old boy of her party friend while they party on different occasions. The boys stay up til 1 or 2 am.The 7 yr. old tells his father about this times and obviously the father is concerned. The mother acts as if she is an officer of the court and changes the visitation to her convenience. All she does is cause the father grief. She is forever yelling about how he never calls his son or how he doesn't see him.Good Lord, she never answers her phone & when she does answer she just sighs and asks why he wants to talk to him 9more grief). It almost takes an act of God for him to speak to his son.The father had to move out of state for work but does everything possible to get his son up for visitation. The ex said absolutely no flying period!During spring break the father had to pick up son half way(total drive of 16 hours)& conveniently the ex allows son to fly home. The father hasn't called the law on his ex due to how his son might take it.

Three months pregnant and we were arguing because i don't have something to eat and i wanted to go to the grocery store...silly, but anyway i popped him, you know the way you would slightly pop someone on the hand, did even mean it. he left and said he was going to get a restraining order against me..yes stupid which means he will never be near his child since i'm carrying the child and we live in the same house??!#%&* and i'm still asking what i'm doing with him..so my question is if he does actually get it will it go on my record? please if you don't have anything nice or constructive to say don't answer!!
