What are the people called who research for a criminal trial
find evidence for the Defense Attorney or Prosector but they never actually go on in person to the trial. They basically do all the work but hand in off to the main guy.

What is this job called?

When he was before the cameras today, it sounded to like he was issuing a threat to anyone that would seek any investigation. Also, why is Karl Rove able to ignore a supeona. I do not think I could afford the same luxury. I am very scared for this country!!!

I am referring to the recent stay of execution of an Ohio inmate that dismembered his victim and spread her body parts over 2 states and her liver was found in his car. How can a medically induced and supervised procedure be considered cruel in light of what he did to his victim and to think how much she had suffered?

I work in a dental office in Texas , the doctor does not own the practice, she is an employee just like the rest of us. She has a strong dislike for one of the assistants because this person will not kiss her ***. She has made bogus complaints about her and everyone in the office knows it is just out of spite. This assistant has done absolutely nothing wrong and even the office manager is appalled at the lengths, this doctor is going to in order to have this employee fired. The doctor went over the office manager's head and complained to the suits and the employee was put on 30 day's probation, she was given a substantial raise two days earlier for her performance. How can my coworker protect herself and what recourse does she have, we are all witnesses to this atrocity.

Some false information was published about me in a local paper. No retraction was made after I contacted the reporter about it. The same paper has labeled me a rather harsh name several times in different articles that have nothing to do with me, yet they continue to label me a derogatory name and print my full name after doing so. I want to put a stop to this. Can I sue? Can I use "discretion" as an argument?

I am a sketch artist and photographer that frequently books hotels to do a days worth of shooting and work.

While visiting a local hotel, I was approached by a hotel manager who told me that the hotel had workers fixing wires in the ceiling above my room and spied on me working!!!

If that wasn't embarassing enough, the hotel manager took this highly invasive information and asked me to leave!

How should I procede with this?

(Reuters) With regards to the Dismissal of 8 Lawyers.....
In a letter to relevant members of Congress, White House counsel Fred Fielding made clear he was not offering Rove and other aides to give sworn testimony as had been requested.

"Such interviews would be private and conducted without the need for an oath, transcript, subsequent testimony or the subsequent issuance of subpoenas," Fielding wrote.

Democratic lawmakers described the offer as unsatisfactory, saying they wanted the witnesses under oath.

The judge said I MUST take an oath to tell the truth and I MUST answer all the prosecutors questions. I told him that I did not want to testify and I objected to answering the questions. He said I don't have the right to remain silent in my speeding ticket trial and threatened to throw me in jail. So, I asked him to let the record show that I object and I'm only answering to avoid being in contempt of court.

Don't I have 5th amendment rights in court for traffic violations?

I was found guilty of speeding and I'm thinking about appealing. My basis for appealing is that the following:

1. The judge admitted evidence from a LIDAR-LASER device.
2. LIDAR-LASER does not have judicial notice in my state (Wisconsin). Country-wide, LASER does not have judicial notice in 95% of any other state either. However, the judge said it DOES have judicial notice - but he's wrong. I objected to admitting laser evidence without the support of an expert witness on laser and he overruled me.

3. The judge admitted the laser evidence even though the cop testified that he did not test the device for accuracy against any moving objects. I objected as to foundation, but like all my other 20-30 objections in trial, he overruled me.

I think this is a strong basis to show that the judge doesn't know what the hell he's doing and I'd like to appeal. My concern is that appealing is expensive, and I can be forced to pay some costs if I loose (even more if frivolous)

O.K., so all of a sudden this really good idea came to me and I just blurt it out to my friend. I forgot that instant that the man standing behind me worked for a company that had to do my idea. Now, I don't know the guy and I don't trust him. I could maybe get it patent, but i'm not sure if it can be patented. This picture of him presenting MY idea to "the board" and then this round guy with a pudding-bowl hair cut gives him a nice big hand shake and a raise to go with it!!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

is an unregistered trademark (TM) okay to throw on anything you want to trademark (that is yours to trademark of course), or do you have to go through the gov't? i know you can technically copywrite anything you create, so does the same go for treademarks? isnt a registered trademark (encircled R) a trademark (tm) that is... well... registered?

Our (chapter 13 bankruptcy) attorney failed to subimit documents to the court. He directly lied to us and told us that he did. We're in the last year of bankruptcy and in need of purchasing a car. He told us almost 3 weeks ago that he submitted the papers to the court and then admitted to my husband today that he didn't. What recourse do we have? Thanks in advance...
