When he was before the cameras today, it sounded to like he was issuing a threat to anyone that would seek any investigation. Also, why is Karl Rove able to ignore a supeona. I do not think I could afford the same luxury. I am very scared for this country!!!

I didn't see this particular thing, but my dad is always talking about stuff like that. He wants to see Bush impeached. I think we should just let him serve out his term with his 33% approval rating. That's our best best of getting a democrat in office in the next election, because anyone we'd put in there now would be re-electable.

Wow, if you are scared now, just think how scared you will be when the terrorists are in your own backyard. I suspect we heard the same broadcast. What sounded to you like a threat sounded to me like a person with conviction standing up for what is right. And, Karl Rove cannot ignore a subpoena.

The *current* administration? What about Clinton lying under oath about having oral sex with Monica...oh, because oral sex "isn't" sex? What about Dan Quayle's office of economic competitiveness, or whatever that was, that allowed business to totally bypass the Clean Air Act of 1990? What about President Regan conveniently having no recollection whatsoever about the Iran-Contra scandal, that totally bypassed an act of Congress? What about Nixon's Watergate? What about the way President Johnson handled Vietnam?

My point is that it isn't just the current administration that's acting above the law. Probably every president since FDR acted above the law at one time or another for the sake of national security, domestic tranquility, advancing his agenda, or covering his @ss. Only history will judge whether or not they were justified for acting above the law. So if you are scared, don't be scared because President Bush is starting a precident, but he's walking in a precident that has been set for decades.

First Rove is covered by Executive privilege...he can but does not have to testify,,,
Second...The Dems have NO proof of any wrong doing...they are just trying to make it a political show as Clinton fired 93 the same way...
Third...why would someone go before a loaded gun when you knew they were out to get you for no other reason than your a member of the GOP
Bush and Crew are not as dumb as you make them out to be...now you whine as they are smarter than you..

Answer this

Because Bush the chief law enforcement officer, and he chooses to ignore the laws.

Aside from impeachment (which is sadly a political non-reality), there is nothing anyone can do because nobody else has the legal authority to enforce the laws against him.

In other words, he can get away with it because he has the power to escape justice. Which pretty much violates the entire reason this country was founded in the first place.

Uhm, no. That's not right. This administration, like all others is not above the law. If they wanted to enforce the subpoena, the US Marshal Service would do so, at the US Supreme Court's instruction.

I thought Bush should have simply fired ALL of the US
attorneys as is his right and as it is customary upon changes
in administration, after all, that is what Bill Clinton did when
he took office...Instead, Bush waited years and only fired 8
of them..He should have gone on TV today and told everyone
that just to be fair, he was firing the rest of them too...

Liberals always talk about separation of powers. This is under that issue. The President does not report to the Congress.
