I was wondering if it is slander to tell your testimony and it involves someone who did some very horrible things to you, and you dont use their name or names, but if they read it,,,they would know it was about them? would it be illegal?

Not in court.

Defamation laws carve out a specific judicial immunity for testimony given in court, or before a grand jury.

But if that testimony is false, then it is punishable as perjury.

I'm kind of wondering why you would be giving testimony about someone whose name you don't want to use. I mean in most cases if you are giving testimony about someone, you have to give a name. Of course it depends on the type of case.

If it is truthful, it is not slander; by any stretch. Slander and Libel must be false statements.

If you say your old lady stole a car, and she did, you are cool.

If you say she stole a car, but she didn't, you are a slanderer.

However, neither is 'illegal'. They are torts, and the slandered party would have to prove in court that what you said was not true AND that they suffered financial damamges because of your lies.

So, that said, whats the story? sounds JUICY.. TELL TELL TELL

Nope, that's the whole point of testimony, to help convict criminals. If you're worried about revenge, then you can join the witness protection agency.

Save it for a court of law. Don't write or talk about things like that in public. You could get in trouble EVEN if it is the truth.

It is only considered slander if you are just alleging things against somebody with no proof or if it is just hearsay.
