Im having problems with my OLD cable company. I moved out of my old apartment THREE months ago-I purchased a house. Im STILL getting bills for the cable service & they have NOT shut it off at the old addy. People live there now Ive called & gone into the office SEVERAL times & work orders have been put in to have service shut off but everytime a tech goes out the NEW resident says "dont shut it off im Melisa and I didnt ask anyone to shut it off there has been a mistake" well point is, I AM MELISA not them I have proven that with id credit cards etc they are even sending the bill to my NEW address Isn't there someone I can contact about this? Ive talked to supervisors they keep assuring me service will be shut off but it never gets shut off Im still receiving a bill and now they are threating to turn me into collections! what do I do? Ive tried to look up utilities commission in my state but no luck. isnt the new resident stealing & committing fraud?
any suggestions??

No, it wasn't time warner cable. They were called Charter Communications when I first started with them three years ago, and then the end of 2006 they changed to New Wave Communications (worst SERVICE after they changed by the way. no wonder people go to dish, so did I!!!!!!)

I have turned in both of the cable boxes and both remotes, though I kept the modem because that I purchased from them. They are not disputing that I turned in the cable boxes or nothing, they just claim that the new resident claims she is me and keeps canceling the disconnect when a tech goes out there. They know damn well I'm me and not them, the lady that works in the office has been to my new home, she has taken every payment from me for the last 3 years. It is the techs and the higher up people that wont do their dam job. she said she doesn't know who I should contact. I've already called customer service and I've gone in the office etc... I've spoken with FIVE different supervisors I even have all of their names and all of their extention numbers.

I just dont know how to find a utilities commission or something in my area. the one I found online only deals with water, sewer, gas, electric. not cable! Someone has to be able to help this is ILLEGAL!!!

Be at your old address next time they go to turn it off. They can go to jail for that. Take them to small claims court.

Let me guess is it Time Warner Cable? I have the same experience with them when we moved into our new home from our old home. They will never correct their mistakes and they report it to the credit bureau and you cannot get it off your credit - believe me I have tried everything and I do not owe them any money. They came and picked up my box and then tried to charge me $500 for it but thankfully I kept the receipt so they had to credit me for that but they still insist on charging me for 3 months that I did not have their lousy service.

A mortgage broker told me they do this to everyone and they ruin a lot of peoples credit.

I think if you dont turn the cable box in they keep billing you until you do. That is what happened with me and comcast....they kept billing me until I actually came and turned the box in. Even though I had called them months prior to disconnect the service

no longer extremely different than that i freezes at times and that the video on call for is truthfully crappy alongside with the music section. additionally, while the financial of my cable corporation comes on, the exhibit screen oftentimes gets all tousled and that an fairly screechy noise comes out of the sound everytime yet altogether, i like my cable corporation by way of fact I even have fairly some channals and stuff.
