I go to St. Clair County Learning Academy. Sounds smart and sophisticated huh? NOT. It is actually a court ordered program for troubled teens who are on probation and slack in school also do drugs. Where do I stand in those options? Troubled teens and trouble in school. This program has been alive for 10 years. Started by 4 judges of St. Clair County. Sounds ok? NOT. This program takes away every single right a teenager should have. They can lock you up any time they want. You get "tickets" for dumb things. Girls may not wear alot of make-up. We all HAVE to wear belts. Shirts tucked in. I mean it SOUNDS like an OK program in words. You haven't expierenced it at all. You get surveillance any time of the day, phone checks, oh get a load of this, BREATHALIZERS. You have to drop also. There is this thing called SATURDAY DETENTION, from about 8:30 in the morning to 4pm. Sitting there all that time doing nothing but WORK. You MUST drop before 12 or you get a 5 point ticket for each 5 mins..

with another person and asked him to give him the material on credit. My husband simply refused him and they left. After 3 -4 days my husband recieved a letter from the advocate that he had purchased goods from him and as they were defective there fore he had returned the same back. He asked for Rs. 10000-00 as cost of goods and RS. 100000-00 as other charges. We were surprised as no deal was there between us. When we called him he told us that as we refused him credit therefore he has done this all. We are very much afraid as we have never gone to any court and also as it would effect our business. Please help us?

Charles Bourns, chairman of the National Farmers Union's poultry board, said farmers were worried about the potential impact on sales.

He urged shoppers: "Just keep eating chicken and enjoying it. There is no danger from it. This is a disease of chickens and not of humans. Just carry on eating it as per normal."

Why not just go back to firing squads?
Only costs 50 cents for a bullet!
If we're going to kill someone for their acts against humanity, just do it!! Stop trying to be so humane! They weren't humane to the people they killed!!!
We're getting WAAAAAYYY too politically correct.

My mother has been a diabetic for more than 20 years. A couple years ago, she was diagnosed with glaucoma (which can cause blindness if not controlled). The specialist that she went to, recommended certain surgical procedures to reduce the pressure build-up and save her eye sight. Immediately after the procedures were performed she went blind. Do we have grounds to sue this doctor?

Maybe eventually she would have gone blind, but he seemed to have speeded up the process. She now feels helpless and depressed and cries everyday because she cannot even see her grandchild. My mother is only 54.

My wife/I recent won a civil court case and the court instructed the other side to pay our court costs through their/our solicitors. The other side did not pay this money by the time the court has instructed them to and their solicitors are saying that they do not know where there clients can be found? I have now received a bil from my solicitor to say that as his company could not recover the court costs from the other side, my wife and I are now responsible. To me this does not sound right, as we actually won the case. Should the solicitors have sorted this out between them in the first place? Do they have an insurance pool to cover such events? Am I liable to pay these costs? Any advice would be great.

With computerisation of Customs and Licencing offices and online submission of documents / approvals, a lot of staff in these offices have become rdundant. They now engage in obstructing other follow up work of exporters / importers with a hope to make some side money on paymnet of which they do the work that they should do in usual course. Government must do something for these immediately and find alternative employment. While the documentation and delays have gone down but cutting down red tape, it has increased costs due to "speed" money.

This is for a school assignment, and I've been doing research for hours now... yet I cannot find information on my last question for my assignment. My assignment has to do with the FDA, and the last question (in exact words) is this : Where do the legislative and the judicial branches of government come into play with investigation and enforcement of the FDA?
I cannot find anywhere on the web that has this sort of information, not even the actual FDA website does. If anyone has any information about this please help! If you can please tell me where you found it if it was on the web, so I can reference it. Thanks in advance!

I am not employed and cannot afford to pay so I called up the council, and was told that I do not need to attend the court hearing as it is only the first stage.

They said that I should wait for the second letter, which I will recieve after the hearing, and will need to do something about.

Do I need to attend the hearing..? does it matter..?

Even though India is blessed with a variety of cultures, languages, castes, varied economic status, tastes for the tradition and the modernism etc, still people do not feel proud of the treasures we have as Indians.
They unite and support during times of crisis such as cyclone, war, sunami etc The proud feeling of oneness has yet to be oxperienced. I feel that this thought must be sowed in the young minds so that they admire and appreciate our rich values.
People must start to work for the country.Corruption must not be encouraged. each one of us should fight corruption and malpractice at all walks of life.
United we win!!!! Let us work unitedly for the progress of ourselves as well as the nation!!!

Why are politicians in the philippines not sincere with running the government fairly and in favour of the poor, instead they all work for themselves and their own pockets and benefits. Movie stars and famous people run the government sometimes people without knowledge or education let alone running a country. The ordinary people in the country are being duped with famous politician/movie stars. These politicians takes advantage of people's poverty and needs.

My 18 year old brother was cited in San Jose California, for some traffic Violations and a minor accident and was told by the police if he admitted to what he did, they would not press any other charges that could have stemmed from the incident. All four charges were misdemeanors, with a possible fifth for lying to the police. He admitted to the incident and they only cited him for the 4 misdemeanors.

However when he received his court appearance paper work they added an amendment stating "Booking required".

Does this mean he has to report to the jail? I told him to contact a lawyer to find out what this mean and if it means he must report immediately or if it means he should wait for the trial. But being 18 he does not think it is a big deal.

If they did decide to charge him with the charge of "Lying to the Police", is there any kind of legal recourse because he was told by the officers they would not cite him for that since he admitted to what he did?

If someone wins hundreds at the National Lottery, then loses their wallet just as they've collected their winnings; the wallet gets handed in at the Police station later, but without the money... Can that person report it stolen? The young lads who handed it in must have helped themselves to it, so can the cops chase after them, even though they did hand in the wallet rather than chuck it in a ditch...

Serious answers, please, I need to help someone.

Any lawyers, law students, please give us some advice?
