I go to St. Clair County Learning Academy. Sounds smart and sophisticated huh? NOT. It is actually a court ordered program for troubled teens who are on probation and slack in school also do drugs. Where do I stand in those options? Troubled teens and trouble in school. This program has been alive for 10 years. Started by 4 judges of St. Clair County. Sounds ok? NOT. This program takes away every single right a teenager should have. They can lock you up any time they want. You get "tickets" for dumb things. Girls may not wear alot of make-up. We all HAVE to wear belts. Shirts tucked in. I mean it SOUNDS like an OK program in words. You haven't expierenced it at all. You get surveillance any time of the day, phone checks, oh get a load of this, BREATHALIZERS. You have to drop also. There is this thing called SATURDAY DETENTION, from about 8:30 in the morning to 4pm. Sitting there all that time doing nothing but WORK. You MUST drop before 12 or you get a 5 point ticket for each 5 mins..

you do not drop. If you do not drop at all it's an automatic "DIRTY DROP." I never violated my probation before this program. I mean EVER. Then when I first get there I get COUNTLESS numbers of tickets that I was totally clueless about me even doing. I got about 13 tickets, they locked me up. My probation started over. Lovely huh? Well I'm bringing this program attention, it needs to be STOPPED right now. I want to write a letter to the president about this awful place and how they are treating us teenagers. My fellow classmate is doing the same. We're observing this place every single day, and we've got alot of dirt. It may take awhile but we are definitley getting this place shut down. Now for the question part, what do you think I should do? Leave the letter alone and finish the program? Or do something about it and be heard??? Give me the step-by-step( That was a good show!! lol) tips.

OH BY THE WAY, In order to successfully complete this program you must get 7 full core credits. How you ask? You have to finish 10 books in each subject. Like English for example.. English 1A Unit 1 you keep moving on and on. when you finish 5 books that is half a credit for you at SCCLA, but at your regular school it's worth northing. You have to bust your *** off harder and harder everyday. I'm not for it, I rather go through Sylvan and get off Probation. I don't know what els eto do here but write a letter to the president, I just don't know what to say, how to say it. Either way, me and my friend are DETERMINED to get this program shut down. And find another way for teens to catch up on grades and to have a better life. We might even start our own program. NOT COURT ORDERED.

So what do you think? Should Michigan band this court ordered program or what?

Me havin ga learing disability and not gettin galong with my mom is not trouble. Running out of the house at the age of 14 because your mom was coming at you with a knife and thats how it all started because you decide to run to a neighbors you are okay with then get locked up from there and put on probation? Incorrect. That's NOT getting in trouble, that's my mom running me out of the house then most likely claiming me a run away when I was right around the corner. So to answer your question NO. Us teens don't need some sort of "structure." We're not a lump of clay you mold into any shape you want for crying out loud there are many out reach centers for teens like this place called S.O.N.S. (Saving Our Neighborhood Society) i think thats what it stands for lol but yeah kids gert to be on the basketball team there, its like a little church. Why have a court based program when you've got that right there? So um excuse you but you're INCORRECT. K thanks.

AZZWIPE. You don't know CHIT SO DONT TALK CHIT. STUPID AZZ BYOTCH! Flat the **** OUT. It's byotches like you that make it hard for us teens to be the good teens we're willing to be. I'm only on here asking questions to see what other peoples poin tof views are and some guidance on to what i should do. Start with the state representatives and senators in the county/city the school is located. At least you will actually be able to talk to someone about the problem. I would get a bunch of people together on this if you're serious about it -- not just students if possible. There's power in numbers.

Good luck!

The president wont do anything.

If you had not got in trouble you would not be in that situation correct? I think all teens need structure if the families dont give it, someone needs too. Too many teens are having babies and taking no responsibility, too many drugs and drinking.

Ask how you can earn the right to try a normal school again, convince them you have changed I went to a Catholic school, So I know what school rules are. We got by with nothing.

You will appreciate it later in life....

Sorry if you are abused. No child should be. However, Your mouth is over runnith.............. Its time to stop and look at how you are behaving. If you were my child I would have to swat your tush speacking to adults that way.

I have never hurt my children. Get in to see the judge and speak to him, not the way you just reacted here but as a mature person.

It sounds like a solid answer to kids that refuse to play by the rules. Kids are expected in fact it is illegal to not go to school, or to go to school drunk, high, or to fight while there. As a teen you only have the rights that the law gives to you and all you are expected to do is go to school and graduate. Other than that the normal expectations of obey the laws (which includes going to school till graduation or age 16, or what ever the legal age to drop out is). If you broke the law or are a problem child in school I would suggest you deal with it, follow the program until you are released back into the normal school system, then you should do as you are expected to do.

In real life as an adult your actions will come with consequences also and some of them will be quite harsh. Do what you have to do succeed and life gets much easier. Buck the system and it gets harder and harder to enjoy life.

And you got into this program for your upstanding behavior and adherence to the law of the land, the rules of your former school, and listening to your parents right?

10 books? Start reading, start writing, and maybe you should waste less time on yahoo and more time trying to straighten your life out.

There are more than one school like this in Michigan, and there needs to be more all across the country. If you can't do as your told and be a good person then you deserve to be removed from mainstream education and placed with others like you where you can all make each other miserable and not bother the rest of the students trying to get an education.

I don't think that writing a letter to the president is where you should start. You should start a little lower down on the rung with someone who might be able to help you. That said, maybe you don't belong in that school but, i don't see anything wrong with giving breathalizers to kids who might be drinking during school hours or surveillance for kids who have proven they need supervision. If you screw up in the real world things are much worse than tucking in your shirt and not being able to wear makeup. I wish you good luck.
