Even though India is blessed with a variety of cultures, languages, castes, varied economic status, tastes for the tradition and the modernism etc, still people do not feel proud of the treasures we have as Indians.
They unite and support during times of crisis such as cyclone, war, sunami etc The proud feeling of oneness has yet to be oxperienced. I feel that this thought must be sowed in the young minds so that they admire and appreciate our rich values.
People must start to work for the country.Corruption must not be encouraged. each one of us should fight corruption and malpractice at all walks of life.
United we win!!!! Let us work unitedly for the progress of ourselves as well as the nation!!!

When the glass is half-filled, it is half-empty and when one door is open, the another is closed - and both are called in the same meaning by different words by different people. This is your state. People of India are still united, like a human body consists of legs, waist, body, hands, shoulders, neck, nose, eyes, hairs, and so on. India has always been so. But your question is to be translated who rules the body, whether brain, eyes, mind or the sole behind it. Give the bridal to the proper hands and it would be visible. What we lack is the Publicity Media, who polishes and frames the other side of the Unity - may be with good intension, but you and me can not see the good intension. United we win. Let us work unitedly not to show the back of our body, but show the beautiful face.

Your ethical and moral ideals can unite the people of India provided you can get the attention of the majority of citizens of India. Many leaders of India have tried: Nehru, a disciple and student of Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru's daughter, Indira Gandhi, his grandson Rajiv, and now Sonia, the widow of Rajiv.

India is a country of many diverse political and economical groups, much like Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and other Middle Eastern countries. The spectrum goes from the very affluent to those in abject poverty, with very few in the middle.

India has traditionally accepted the "caste" system; and, though the government and society has denied it, India is still operating under this system.

There are many educated men and women in India; and, according to reports I have recently read, India is a world leader in technological advancements; yet, they continue to maintain and foster societal traditions hundreds of years old.

Citizens of any country cannot be expected to take pride in their country or themselves unless they are given an opportunity to contribute or take part in that country's governmental decisions. The challenge of Indian leaders is to encourage input from all citizens of India. Develop local citizen committees in every community, provide political and economic forums for citizens to be heard without fear of governmental retaliation.
