I had a plumber come out to snake my pipes; while he was here HE broke some pipes and had to go buy supplies and repari what he broke. When we received the bill the company charged us for parts and labor. We wrote to them stating that we would be happy to pay for the cost of snaking our drain, however we were not going to pay for their employee's mistake. They sent another bill, so we sent the same letter again, registered. They then called us, I explained that we would be happy to pay for the job we hired them for but not for the extra damage that their employee caused. Today we received a notice of a Mechanics Lein in the mail. We are just curious what exactly that means. We live in Missouri, and our credit rating is actually quite excellent, so if this shows on our report I really do not think that it would hurt us all that much. We have no contract with this company, nothing has been signed. What should we expect from this?

i want to park my burger van on a gravelled area opposite a small rank of shops that lead up to five lined parking spaces at the end.the car business uses this gravelled area to park his cars on.he has found out after complaining to to the local council about abandand cars parking in this area, he was told that the council do not own this land.we think that they dont want to maintain this area which is about 20-30meters long and about3-4meters depth.with bushes seperating the path and then main road.the residents have also made complaints againts car business because they park cars on this land(old people).he still parks them there. Is this because the gravelled area is 'common land' and they cant enforce any laws?and there is no street name for this area on any maps.the car business owner is trying to take ownership of land. Can i park up and trade from here and stay within the law?

My husband and I were recently made redundant. I am in the process of starting my own business (very early stages) so haven't actively looked for a job yet. I have never claimed any benefits before and have paid my stamp since I was 21. I want to know if I am entitled to any form of benefits/monetary help from the government. We have a mortgage for £100,000. No children
We live in manchester, UK.
If anybody can let me know what I may be entitled to claim
and how I would go about it, that would be great.

Since most lawsuits settle out of court, this means a defendant will probably lose lots of money even if the plaintiff is wrong, right?

My ex boss, which my daughters worked for also,, First I guess I need to say he fired everyone. He has a home improvement company and I was general manager. My two daughters were in sales. The company actually repaired my home before I started working for him. Well this suppose to come with a 5 year warranty. Well I have a leak, tried to contact him he wouldn't call me back. But being that I worked for company before. And I know all the crews, because I was there boss. I called the crew that did the work on my house. They came and said there was a hole and a board was coming up.. They tarred the roof and left. Recieved a e-mail today, saying he wasn't fixing any thing. I have interior damage. He said when he fired us. That my warranty was gone. I just don't think thats right. Then he e-mailed me that someone told him that my youngest daughter was caught having sex in the office by a customer,,, he even named the customer... This didn't happen. And I was fired because I stole from the
