Depending on how old you are- there is a really funny cartoon about this. You should try to check it out online- but a simple answer is that a member of congress introduces the bill, it goes to committee, the committee votes it out of committee, it goes to the floor, it is voted upon, it goes to the other house, it goes to committee, it is voted out of committee, voted upon by the general body, if no changes are made and it is passed, then it goes the president to sign. If the president doesn't sign it and vetos it, then it goes back to Congree and must be passed by 2/3rds of Congress. A bill can originate in either house of congress- it doesn't have to start in the House.

The idea gets taken to the house of representatives ,and if it makes it through the committees it goes to a vote.If it passes then it goes to the Senate. If it passes there it goes to the president to sign.If he signs it it becomes law.If he doesn't it is vetoed then it is dead ,unless it can be passed by 2/3 of the votes in the House of Representatives. If that happens than it is law.
