The company actually repaired my home before I started working for him. Well this suppose to come with a 5 year warranty. Well I have a leak, tried to contact him he wouldn't call me back. But being that I worked for company before. And I know all the crews, because I was there boss. I called the crew that did the work on my house. They came and said there was a hole and a board was coming up.. They tarred the roof and left. Recieved a e-mail today, saying he wasn't fixing any thing. I have interior damage. First of all, you're a female, so you belong to a "protected class." You don't need to know what that means, but as a practical matter, it means you can file a claim for wrongful termination with the EEOC or your state's Human Rights Division (they both have jurisdiction). If your termination was wrongful, he pays you damages. As the first answerer said, he cannot unilaterally void a warranty at his whim. That's a consumer fraud issue that should be handled by your state's atty general, although your local prosecutor or district atty may have a consumer fraud division. The email to you saying your youngest daughter was caught having sex with a customer is another issue. If that's false, the email constitutes "publication" which is an element of defamation or libel (my state makes no distinction between the two. If your state does, it libel because it's in writing. Based upon what you have said, I see at least 3 causes of action you can sue for. I'd try the EEOC or Human Rights first, because it's free. They first mediate and all your issues could be settled in mediation. If mediation doesn't work and the EEOC is on your side, they try "conciliation." If that doesn't work, the EEOC will file suit for you.
