President Bush ridiculed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Thursday _though not by name — for saying that the $22 billion that separates congressional Democrats from the White House on spending bills is a "very small difference."

Lawmakers have increased the president's $433 billion request for non-defense programs by about 5 percent.

In prior years, GOP-controlled congresses denied many of the same cuts.

The search efforts continued as authorities reviewed the safety record of the bridge, which had been designated "structurally deficient" as early as 1990.

I was staying overnight at a friend's house after drinking when we had an arguement. She told me to get out of her house and chucked all my stuff out. Without thinking, I got in my car and drove and was caught for drink driving. I was twice over the limit. I have held a clean license for 8 years and never been arrested before. Upon arrest I mistakingly admitted that I had been drinking a lot recently and was on tablets for depression as a consequence of my mother's terminal illness. The whole experience has shocked me and I am thoroughly disgusted at what I have done. I have not touched a drink since my arrest and will definately never ever do this again. I am well aware of the minimum and maximum penalities but wondered what is most likely for me? Also I am meant to be travelling to USA on honeymoon next summer and am terrified I will not be able to obtain a visa. There is no way I am going to lie about my conviction as some people have advised... What do you think??

I am by no means racist; but many people that I come into contact with are! And these questions cross my mind.

First of all, what percentage of this new America; post 9/11, Iraq war, etc., will vote for a man, who has the middle name of 'Hussein'?

Secondly, what percentage of American voters, again I am NOT a racist, or a bigot, will vote for a young black man to be President of the United States?

Thirdly, what percentage of Americans will vote for someone (and I know about the Church that he attends in Chicago.) who alot of Americans perceive to be, if not Muslim, then highly associated with Muslims?

Lastly, what percentage of American voters will vote for someone who engenders ALL of the above mentioned traits?

I only ask this out of curiosity; personally, I do not think, at this point in American history, that Americans are ready for Barak Hussein Obama to be their President, and Commander in Cheif.

I'm talking about the nazi soldiers. They had to obey orders or be killed. Also before Hitler took power Germany was in poverty, people were poor. Hitler promised to turn it around. So by following Hitler and his orders, weren't the nazi's just trying to survive and have a better life? Does the world owe them a big apology? Opinions?

I'm disappointed in the Dems.

Why haven't they done the right thing and legalize pot? Shouldn't it be my right to smoke whatever I want?

Why have the Dems let us down?

If you get a vasectomy (male) or tubal ligation (for females), are there any unintended side-effects or risks with the operation that might get you turned down for enlistment? They're probably not going to care that you're sterile, but is there anything else I should know about?

Asking because I was considering both (enlistment and sterilization)

I believe I heard this on the news this morning. It will take $190 billion and a generation to fix all the troubled bridges in the USA.
Will these future fundings be considered pork barrel spending? Until then, will the highway department provide a spot to pull over and pray before crossing over a bridge?

I'm really fed up. We have a bunch of little hoodie chavscum in our village who are causing a lot of trouble. They vandalise people's cars, make a hell of a racket in the early hours of the evening, have been terrorising my 86 year old housebound neighbour by chucking stones at his window, kicking his door, threatening him etc (poor old boy can hardly walk), and even beat up a Dominos Pizza Delivery man so badly (and stole all his money) that Dominos will no longer deliver to our village (a bummer when you want a pizza!).

The police don't want to know.

My other half threatened to rearrange their faces for them and now they wait until he's out at work in the evening and start kicking our door and banging on our windows really loudly - knowing I'm in alone. They wake up my 8 month old baby every night. They don't even care!

I'm so sick of this! The police won't do a damned thing!!! What can I do?! Am I allowed to shoot them?

The number one job of a Union is to protect bad employees from being fired. How is that good for any organization?

If you are a slacker, it makes sense that you would want to join a union - but are they good for America?

I find divorce laws to be sexist and change. There are many women who benefit by marrying a rich man and living off half his money and child support after a divorce occurs. I think that if our society wants to encourage equality for men and women then this practice should change.
