I really do not think that the GOP is being served well by the Limbaugh/Hannity crowd, at all.

Maybe some. But seriously, do you think Social Security is needed? A little bit of educating of the workforce on the personal responsibility of saving for retirement could have done a much better job than SS. Now we face an ongoing threat of tax extraction to pay for spiraling costs in all of our social plans. This is not responsible government. Defense is and always will be. No way around that.

They value these too:
- Having the govt. pass stricter laws to control people's "immoral" behavior.
- Having less separation of church and state, as long as you're one of the Chreestian faiths, not Unitarian.
- Leaving Social Security, Medicare, etc. up to private companies, who can trade on the stock market and go bankrupt if they want
- Keeping science under control of the con-Chrustian beliefs
- Letting the "better" people keep their money and leave the
ones looking for a handout fend for themselves.
- Cutting taxes to wage expensive wars on borrowed money, then only complaining about govt. expenses that help people, like schools, healthcare, safe bridges and dikes, etc.
- Having a war for any reason, because then they'll know how to invest their money and get rich at taxpayer expense.

Does the Democratic Congress value anything in regards to the government besides raising taxes?

We value practicality and pragmatism. People being responsible for themselves. We value teaching a man to fish instead of giving him money. We value less government attempting to "fix" our lives. We value spearheading a problem before it becomes too big to handle. What else do you want to know?

we do care a lot about national security and do whatever it takes to keep our children safe , it is much better this way than assuming nothing will happen . We also value morals , common sense , history , marriage , and the constitution among many other things

Well let's check the constitution...(Article 1 Section 8, Powers of Congress)

Defense - OK check
Interstate roads - OK check
Post office - OK

Hmm, courts, patents, regulation of currency & foreign trade..

That's all I can find! Let me know if you find something I missed
